Still waiting. The mountains are getting it. Just not the plains.

The famous snow lasted for about 48 hours - all gone now. Snow tires are a waste of time and money in the GVRD, unless you go to the mountains, IMHO. It is necessary to drive very carefully for a few days, but the Yaris is good for slippery conditions.

I agree - I commute between Chilliwack and Vancouver each day - and it snowed a lot last Thursday (25th) and somewhat last Friday (26th) - I had absolutely no probs driving my Yaris on factory all season tires - I just drove slow and allowed myself LOTS of time both ways on Highway 1 - I think the snow tire movement has more to do with extreme conditions and bad drivers

How slow??? If you're on the OEM Goodyear LS tires that mine came with 5 mph proved excessive once a 1/2" of snow packed to ice during a freak November squal. Slap on some winter tires, especially an ice specific design and laugh at that same ice.
