Sad. Not as if he was snatched away in his prime, he's been Out There for decades. His list of movies is long and varied; IMHO, his best was Airplane, but that's just me...

Too sad. He had a real knack for the roles he played.

I'll always remember him for his work in Airplane and the Naked Gun series. He was absolutely brilliant. At least we went peacefully in his sleep. RIP

i heard this morning..he was a great comedian too..naked gun series was funnnnny...
does anyone else remember the old police files show? i believe it's what started the naked gun movies. he was in them and played basically the same clueless cop. very funny!
my buddies and i used to watch police files and naked gun movies all the time. brings back a lot of good memories.
'you want to take a dingy, frank?'
'no, i took one at the conference.'

Just listened to an old interview with Leslie and his brother Erik. Believe it or not, Erik was the funnier one, even in Leslie's opinion. Erik also died at 84, a couple of years ago; his resume covered being Asst. Prime Minister, among other political offices, and, while he was stone-faced coming out of Caucus meetings, others were still wiping away the tears of laughter...
"And stop calling me Shirley..." RIP
