what is behind the instrument panel

maybe somebody have picture of dismantling the instrument panel since I need to see whether the heating which is going on the windshield is accessible when I dismantle the instrument panel ?

I am asking because now when the temperature dropped below zero the heating went is rattling :(

If you remove the cluster, the center vent duct is under it. Once you remove that (it just snaps into place), you have a nice view into the top of the airbox. In this picture the top of the dash is removed, so you can see more than you will see with just the cluster removed:

How much room is there between the vents and the piece right in front of the IP?
(If I wanted to install something in or under that panel right in front).
