View Full Version : My Bettery Is Dying :(
so went to start my car earlier this afternoon and it sounded as it it was losing charge. the car is an 07 with 56k mi. on it and it scared me to think that its starting to show its age. i don't know if charging the battery would help or if i need to get a new one. but i guess 10-30 degree tempuratures don't help my situation any. any help or advise would be awsome. oh and before you all start telling me to search around i found nothing helpfull here or at scionlife.:help:

first you need to make sure both battery terminals are tight and clean, check to see that your alternator is charging the battery ( need around 14 volts at the battery with the engine running ). Someplace like AutoZone can also test your battery with a load on it...other then that you might need a new battery. Good luck.

If your two thousand and seven Toyota Yaris is like mine, it was manufactured in the early part of 2007...
My 2007, manufactured in January 2007, is about to become 4 years old... Expected lifetime of a battery is only 3-4 years.
I'm also noticing a weaker battery, and tougher cold starts.
However I don't conclude that my car is showing signs of old age from this. My Yaris is still going strong :-) It just needs like $70 worth of new battery,... Wal-mart installs it for free! Size 35 or whatever.

I think my battery is dying too. I have a 2007 (purchased in October, 2006) sedan. However, I have a sub in the trunk, and sometimes I play music for ~15 minutes with the engine off. So I think it's normal. hahahaha.
