My high beams on my bi-xenon hid kits stopped working.
I dont hear the "thud" of them tilting anymore?

any tips to fix???

the regular beams still work, and the indicator light on the dash comes on, the fogs turn off and normal lights stay on, but no high beam! :bs:

With the kit that you bought, how is the high beam solenoid (the device that flips the shield) wired? Does the ballast control it, or is it wired directly to the high beam feed?

likely need new HID bulbs...

You have much more experience with the HID kits than I do, but my understanding is that many of the HIDs with the solenoid shield have issues with the solenoids burning out due to over driving them. There are three wire solenoids that have two coils - A high current one for flipping the shield and a low current one to hold it once it is flipped. The high current one isn't intended to be left on for holding.

Doesn't that kind of bulb only make one brightness? --- If lo/hi is controlled by a solenoid, and low beams light up, then the bulb is good right?

bulb sounds like itd be a "flexible" bulb where it tilts for the high beam

ive seen them stop working every now and then...its just easier to get a new bulb/bulbs if you want high beams...

depending on when/where you got it, it SHOULD be warrantied

Well, as far as a waranty, Im not sure, can you chime in Caliyaris? I got them from you ....

The low beams are working fine, so why would I need new bulbs? shouldnt it just be a wiring issue? if anything I would have thought a new harness would be the fix. I really dont want to have to change it all out though! :(

Mine don't have "flexible bulbs", just the one with a solenoid-controlled shield.

Do your kits have the two wire or three wire solenoids?

@ CTScott - 2 wires, pretty sure.

@ OP: if you are within warranty you get new parts, but we need to clarify which parts you need.

OK - If it's this kit from your store, then it looks like the solenoid is controlled by the ballast. So, it could either be the solenoid or the driver that is bad, but I would think that the solenoid is the more likely culprit.

that looks like an h11 kit...

i don't have any pics of the kits i sell right now, but i can take a pic of the wiring harness, etc later

the ones i use have 2 wire solenoid (iirc) that moves the bulb
