I need to change the engine air filter for my '09 5-door LB. Anyone have the part number for the OEM Toyota filter or the part number for a 3rd party filter I can get from AutoZone or Checker's Auto?

Thanks.

I got an OEM Filter right in front of me and the number is: 17801-21050.

If you are interested in a K&N filter (I'm using one) the number is 33-2360.

Thanks!

Anyone have part numbers for 3rd party engine air filters that are available from AutoZone or Checker's?

I don't want to use K&N since I'm in a dusty region.

Also, is there a DIY on how to change the engine air filter?

Have you tried going to you favorite parts store's web site and looking up what you need? The Checkers/O'Reilly's web site says they carry a Wix 49104 and a Microgard 10190. Autozone carries the STP 10190.

A DIY would insult your intelligence. Just loosen the two metal clips that hold the air box tight, lift up the top a little and pull out the old filter. Put the new filter in oriented the same way as the old one. It is irregularly shaped and has a groove in it, so it only fits one way. Push the box back together, put the clips back on, double check to make sure it's on straight and tight all the way around and you're done.

Go to a Toyota dealership, they are less than $15...

And it is a simple replacement, remove the clips on the airbox, take out the old filter, put in the new one, and close. The filter has a small edge on one corner so it will only go in one way. Takes maybe a minute...

Cheers! M2
