and one of the car http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m153/eljefe6991/sirius/IMG_0113.jpg
hard wired the power under the console with a cigar lighter socket from radioshack, ran the antenna through the right side rocker covers and kick panel, then under the carpet to the console, it's pluged into the aux in that little cubby (stock location) andi had to use a ground loop isolator and adapters from radioshack due to bad ground loop feedback.
all i need now is to find some of the black nylon expendable wire sleeve to cover the wires going to the dock and it's done

not bad, sirius is pretty sweet, I've been a subscriber to sirius for over a year now, and had XM for a year before that.

What did you get from Radio Shack specifically "ground loop isolator and adapters" ? Serious does sell this however I am not sure if that would be the way to go or pick up the same stuff you did:

I think the item that you are showing on the Sirius website is used if you dont have an aux input in your car. It seems like the new receivers are much weaker than the old receivers I have had. I believe this is a result of the FCC crap. Therefore, you really need an aux input, and cannot rely on the FM transmitter. This item solves that problem.

I just installed a Stilleto last nite, and I too am getting that horrible whining noise in the speakers from the engine. El Jefe, did the ground loop extender work to eliminate that problem?

I had mine mounted in the same spot but didn't like that it crowded my passengers so I slipped it in that side console where the aux plug is. Now it's hidden, so you need to use the remote. But having Sirius rules. I've been a subscriber for 2 years and absolutely love it.
