I tried to use my aux port with my mp3 player for the first time and i'm only getting sound on the right side of the car. Anybody else have this problem or have any solutions? Thanks

First check out if the adapter you are using is the correct one, I don't even listen to CDs or the radio anymore, with my MP3 I had no problems thus far, all speakers working and the sound awesome, follow up with that and let us know, good luck buddy

^^ Yep, you probally have a mono cord and you need one for stereo.

Also check the speaker balance setting on the stereo. The previous owner of my Yaris had just the front speakers on.

The top and bottom are stereo. the middle is mono. you can tell based on the black (usually) bands that stretch around it.
1 = mono, 2 = stereo, 3 = probably for a microphone

ok, i've been messing with this all day. i do have a stereo cord. if i push it in as hard as i can and hold it very tight i get sound through both sides, but as soon as i let go it goes back to right side only. it's like the jack isn't long enough, but i compared to another i have and it's the exact same length. maybe the aux jack has a short in it?

update, i fixed it!!! i took the aux port completely apart and believe it or not there was a tip of another rca jack jammed in the very back of the port. apparently the owner before me broke his rca jack off and left it in there. i removed the gold tip, pushed the lettle metal plate back where it should be and it works great now. i could either blame the former owner or toyota for the poor placement of the jack.

thanks for all the suggestions.
