Any idea where can I get them in the Bay area? What will be the cost? Is is easy to do it at home? Thanks a lot...

I can ask my friends friend...he gets custom vinyl work done on his lexus IS 350.
You can give speed element a call, although they are a tuning shop, they MAY have some vinyl stripes~
They are located in fremont...around grimmer automall area.
By the way, welcome to yaris world and congrats on your purchase!

Just head to a reputable vinyl shop that does vehicle installs. TRUST ME, you do not want to do this yourself! I had a buddy of mine install my stripes, and make sure you get the premium vinyl, not standard.

I used 3M Scotchcal, oracal 751 is a great vinyl as well. Bubbles are easy to avoid/fix. Its making sure its lined up straight and avoiding wrinkles is more important. I might try to get my roof stripes replaced next year, my buddy got them off-center in the back, but I'm the only anal retentive bastard who's noticed.

Thanks, started taking quotes from two local shops. Some are suggesting painting it, any idea? How does it cost? One guy quoted me $600 for racing stripe that runs over the top with oracal 751, seems little high to me.

Also, got quotes for window tinting, front 70% with 3M, and rear 40% and 30%. Asking price is $360 in one place and, another one which uses Optik quoted $300. Sounds reasonable? Any leads?
Not sure about in CA, but I worked for a vinyl shop here in Ohio and we did racing stripes with install for around $150 - $200.
And as for window tint, I had mine done (30% front / 20% rear) with lifetime warranty for $125.
So I'd say to keep looking unless you left coasters chime in that the rates above by Gumba are reasonable for CA. =)

My tint was a little more, maybe $200-250-ish, by a GREAT shop that never ever cuts corners.

Wow ! I know CA is expensive, but this is like robbery dude. $125 =>$360 for tint, $200 => $600 for vinyl, wish I could just drive out and get it done at 33OH's shop.

It may be more now...but they are good.
Another mobile tint is.... tint r ys in san jose as well. Really nice guy who quickly removed my driver and passenger tints off and gave me a professional invoice because i cant afford a 4th tint ticket....

Here in Washington state prices are extremely high, I've been quoted $480-$700. I really want to get tint, but NOT at those prices!

Ask them why?
Rent is higher in california. Materials are the same, minimum wage(and most wages) are higher.
I got mine done for like 120. 3 years ago, not a single bubble.
Maybe I'm spoiled in california, but I can't believe you can't find anybody to do tint cheaper than 480. (even 360 is ridiculous, 250 is high, but not crazy, especially from a trusted shop)

Slow.yaris do you remember the name of the store where you got it done. I am in the bay area, which is even costlier but at least I can try to talk.
