Details of Meet/Activity
Anyone who is familiar with MV and the soutern areas of Marin in general will know that once you get off the main roads, everything else is curvy and montainy, so there are a lot to choose from!

the main one i like is called Tennessee valley road, it's a fun road, but it only lasts about 2 or 3 miles so it's verrrrrry tiny compared to our normal calaveras blast, so I'm sure we will want to do a couple of roads

Tennessee Valley Road:
http://goo.gl/maps/JSa5

Then there is the 1 highway just above that which is WAYYYYYY longer than calaveras so I'm sure we won't want to do the whole thing. It splits in 3, 1 road goes to Muir woods, the other to Mt.Tam and the other to Stinson Beach. Hopefully they won't be jammed with tourists, but usually i like the one to Mt.Tam because it has a lot of banked turns and not too much cliff side driving.

I usually just meander around all the backroads at high speeds until i get bored or lost, then I gps my way back

**If anyone has other ideas they would like to include, please don't hesitate to contact Computerlove87 or I.

****All ARE WELCOME TO COME TO THIS MEET****

I think we should do the photoshoot before eating and the cruise. That way, we would have pics at the storage facility, and if we spot a nice area during the cruise, stop and do another photoshoot there.

You guys don't want to do it earlier in the week/break?

We definetly can have in the week...just waiting on taylors dates for spring, ultimately it depends on him.

I'd love weekdays but i dont know how many adults will be affected if its not a saturday.

What days of the weekdays did you have in mind?

I just saw SFSU spring break dates...it starts week of march 28..so i cant do before march 25th since i may be taking a tues/thurs class this semester. So what other dates are suitable for you?

@ric - would the following weekend after the 26/27 work for you?

I think I can only do it the week of the 21st. I'm expecting my school load to really crank up starting next week, so I know I'm going to be really busy this semester. If not spring break, I guess the only time we can all get together again is during summer break. lol.

Are you building a new computer. Taylor? This I'd love to see
I'm not going to say anything because I work on call so I don't know, but if I can come, I will. My car needs major cleaning, maybe even the clay bar treatment this time and it hasn't seen the vacuum cleaner since the Bush administration  OK maybe not that long but pretty long, so I guess I better get to it, otherwise it'll be the dirtiest car at the meet.

Unfortuantely, it looks like most of the footage looks like I was recording the ceiling going by very fast LOL As soon as I get a chance though, I will try to salvage what i can, like the winnder's poll and when I recorded the other people's race. Also, I was kind of witing until I built my new comp, my old ones don't have the HP to edit video without making me wait forever.

I desperately need a claybar too, the whole front of my car was subjected to some spray-back when i was spray painting something (luckily it was white) If u or anyone else for that matter wants to come over and see the new comp and claybar the cars in my garage, i have all the necessary stuff  (plus a vacuum, upholstery extractor, pressure washer and steam cleaner)

new computer: AMD Phenom x6 OC'ed to 4.2ghz, ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, 16gb GSkill DDR3 2000 mhz OC'ed memory, 2x OCZ vertex 2 60gb SSD's in RAID 0, 2x WD Caviar black 1tb 10,000 rpm in RAID 0, 1 Blu-ray writer, 1 DVD writer, NZXT Crafted Phantom case + sentry fan controller, ATI HD5770, 4 monitors!!!

Looks like from reading the other posts no matter what date we set, not everyone will be able to make it because some schools have the week before and some the week after. So we have 2 options, set it on the 27th, which looks like it will be good for the most people, or have 2 dates  Who WON'T be able to do the 27th?

edit: apparently I didn't get the number correct from Dez so I ended up texting some random guy who had no idea what I was talking about haha. Someone else got his number?

What car would that be, Sean? E30 M3? :D

it's actually an E46 M3 engine (S52 3.0L inline 6 rated for 300 HP) with stiffer suspension and better brakes.

It's in a class of its own for performance vs. price.

Is there still going to be a meet if it raining?

If it's raining, the meet will be cancelled.

The amount of traffic and people becoming even more idiots during the rain on the freeway, I doubt anyone would want to commute a long distance.

Referring to Kaotic, Advocate, and myself.

Kaotic Lazagna
03-21-2011, 07:19 PM
I say let's just cancel it to be on the safe side. I'm not really in the mood anyway. I'm fu cking pissed off like I've never been fuc king pissed off before. I seriously want to beat this one n igga up.

Kioshi
03-21-2011, 07:32 PM
I also haven't been in the mood primarily due to the disaster and people i care about in Japan...and school~

I'm going to wait till late Wednesday night to see what Weatherbug, Accuweather, and HTC Sense weather report says for Sunday's forecast.

tomato
03-21-2011, 07:55 PM
HTC sense weather sucks. It tells me it's nice and shiny when I can see outside my window it's pouring rain, and yesterday and today it's been saying it's raining, while outside it's beautiful. So take that with a grain of salt.

I hear you, what's going on in Japan is terrible, terrible news, but it would be nice to get together anyway.

Seems that way to me too

Most of the time, though, not always. You gotta hang on to the "not always" part otherwise, you can't live that way.

and besides, even though there is a lot of DB around :rolleyes:, there are also a lot of people like us. Those are the people you wanna be with and ignore the others if you can.

So hang in there. No matter what the problem is, it'll pass, everything always passes, so hang in there bud.

Also, I have to remember to show everyone some of my favorite runs in the back-roads of Mill-Valley. Hi all,

I'm interested in attending this. I have a Yaris, and I live about 4 hours away, but more than willing to make the drive. Anyway, I just wanted to submit a reply so I can get the email updates on the thread. Hopefully I can make whatever day you all choose.

Short info about myself so I don't seem like a completely random stanger: My name is Lisa, I currently go to school as well(which it seems like many here do) I work full time, and I have owned my current Yaris for 2 years. I had another Yaris before this one for 2 years as well, but we (my boyfriend and I) decided to trade the 2 door hatch for the 4 door hatch, which made life much easier. I loved my original Yaris and I love the one I'm in now. I love putting miles on it as well, we traded the first one with 50K miles, and our current Yaris is at 60k. My Yaris has not been modified in anyway, so it is the same as the day I bought it. Ok that wasn't that short but hey, I'm kinda excited. This looks like fun to attend!

Also, this isn't by invitation only is it? New people are allowed to come as well?

Thanks,
Lisa

My Yaris has not been modified in anyway, so it is the same as the day I bought it. Ok that wasn't that short but hey, I'm kinda excited. This looks like fun to attend!

Also, this isn't by invitation only is it? New people are allowed to come as well?

Thanks,
Lisa

Hey, Lisa, thanks for posting! First of all, welcome to the forum :headbang::smile:

We'd love for you to come!!!:smile:

That's OK if your car hasn't been modified, it's still fun to hang with fellow Yaris owners. The more Yarii, the merrier!!

Looks like we don't have a set date yet but it should be sometime mid-April so keep checking the thread and don't hesitate to post and bump up the thread in case we all fall asleep and forget lol.

What dates work for you in the April 14-17 range?

I would do it, except i don't have a pre-09. I've always been interested in seeing that!

Yes yes i will be attending!! been a minute. Nothing new though (maybe) just a daily driver with crazy camber. I look forward to kickin it again.

Beautiful fitment and nice modified steelies too LOL

Anyway, the real reason for this post is to give more details on some of the roads we will be driving...

Also, If anyone's interested in doing a NCVC traditional meet/work on our cars, let me know and i'll bring my tools, jacks and cleaning equipment...

I have lots of stuff available to bring:
2 hydraulic floor jacks, 2 electric scissor jacks, 2 stands
a nicely supplied hand-toolbox with nice digital multimeter, torque wrenches etc..
OBDII Scanner
A well supplied detailing kit
(still waiting on my orbital buffer to arrive though, so that is still a maybe)
Pressure washer
steam cleaner
upholstery cleaner
dremel
drill
reciporicating metal saw
etc....

I am going to be staying at MVSA all day after the meet working on my car probably, so just let me know what to bring and we'll work on our cars! I will probably be changing my oil and bleeding my brakes. It'll be a perfect time to try any mods you are worried about doing yourself because you can draw on our collective expertise.

I'd like to try out some rolling shots. Who has the softest suspension? I'm going to need to sit in the trunk while the car being shot paces diagonally from behind. I would say if Tomate goes, she would have the softest suspension. My car would not be anywhere near soft as the TRD shocks and S.Tech combo is pretty harsh (car barely moves when I get in or out). I'm not sure what everyone else is lowered on, so I don't know who would have the softest set up if Tomate doesn't go.

1. The caddy is like a morbidly obese person...it stops jiggling about a minute after you shake it. LOL

2. If you are going through SF, you really have no choice but to go downtown really. I recommend going Van Ness to Lombard to the GG bridge

although if you are coming from the south-east bay, you are much better off just going 880 to 80 to 580 (follow the signs for Vallejo/Sacramento and eventually San Rafael.

Uhhh, guys:

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. West wind between 6 and 8 mph.

Sunday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

That's for Mill Valley for Sunday. And that's from weather.gov, not .com. Crap! I guess it's going to be a dirty car meet. I'm not going to wash my car if there's a chance of rain, even if it is just 20%. hahahaha

1. Assad: There is shelter for us to be in if it rains (and we can still see our cars), but nothing necessarily big enough for more than 1 car.

2. I might be a few minutes late, I have to finish some last minute mods that I started tonight and have to finish before I can drive my car LOL

3. If I am late, just remember the code is * 9 2 7 4 #, and drive straight, all the way to the back of the facility, the owner preferred that we meet there, and that's where the vacant unit is.

Keep in mind, I wasn't able to use PhotoShop to edit the RAW and convert them into JPEG. I had to use PhotoScape to convert the RAW to JPEG, then edit the JPEG. I hate editing JPEGs since it doesn't come out nice.

Last picture and the 9th picture from the bottom....Great shot Laz.

Ah, about twisty roads....there is one twisty road (and actually fun) a little before reaching Yosemite Drive/Ave?

I was in my friends HIghLander....we couldn't make the best of it....but it looked like a fun road.

Its kind of FAR for us though...unless we do a NCVC Camping Meet?

non edited pics are ALWAYS the best ;)

Hey Laz, do you remember Allen(?) the guy w/ the white 2009 hatchback 3 door from the AutoMall Toyota Car Show we attended?

I just saw him on the way back from SF State on 280 South. He's got the whole kit on his car, looks like a C-One rear and the JDM modellista(?) manta ray looking type bumper with his halo projectors on...

I sped past him....totally was daydreaming:laugh:

@ ezhacker1: There is a black liftback i saw on 19th ave...with depo projector lights, black rims w/ red lip and lowered....who the hell is THAT??

These people need to register on here...

There are OTHERS out there HIDING........:frown:

You refering to username: Alain Mikli? Taylor and I were talking about him after you guys left (our mini meet lasted longer than the official one). He's the one with the sun roof! I hung out with him a few times. He lives like 10 minutes from me, last i heard from him was like last year. He was gonna CF the inside panels. man his car is beautiful. I think i still have his number.

I also saw that black liftback too, once when i was crossing the 19th leaving State.

Hey Jonathan. How's that video? lol

I had the stupid image stabilizing on. The background moving while foreground stationary causing some whacky camera shake. Im gonna try to motion track stabilize it with After Effects.

Here's one without the awful camera shake and warp.

That road looks like it hurts. Bumps and dips = bad for Dez and me, more so for Dez. hahahahhaha. Otherwise, looks like a fun road.

No tripod man, I only stabilized it on x and y axis not diagonal seesaw motion. I'd love to see that white Yaris again so sexy.
