First thing first, hello all, I am new here and excited to share my passion for my Yaris.
The story: In late september 2010 my first car, a 1994 toyota Camry LE finely came to rest. She had $9,000 + invested in her, 224,000 miles and a blown transmission. I had dumped more then half my remaining savings account into the car, and things just kept breaking, frankly I was sick of fixing her just to keep her alive for a couple months longer before something else broke.
A week before all this happened I had wandered off to the Koon's Honda dealer in search of a Acura RSX ( I know I know  ) well I happened to overlook the two yaris's they had on the lot, only to find them online after my Camry broke down and in summary thats how I cam to find my Yaris.
Two months after I bought my Yaris I was heading home from work as I usually would at 11pm. I turned at the light and not 100 feet from the light *boom* I scream freaking out A. that I just ruined my brand new baby, and B. I just hit an effin dear and it got up and limped away!
I managed to drive home and nearly cry my self to sleep..(LOL) and get up the next morning to find my toyota emblem from the front of my car.
The damage: the front bumper was crack in 3 places and almost torn off, the radiator was pushed back about 8 inches, but didn't break the fans.
the expansion tank for the coolant was broken at the bottle neck
the tabs on my driver side headlight were broken the whole assembly needed to be replaced
the hood was bent so it couldn't open or close and there were three dents on the side of my car
the front emblem was broken
my battery shifted and my air box has a crack in the bottom
the front tie bar was bent to hell and the horn was almost ripped off
I had a buddy do all the work on my car, the total cost came out to $387.88 in parts excluding the air box we didn't buy because toyota wanted $600 for it.
I traded my buddy my old Camry with the blown transmission for his labor.
