Is it just me?!

Ok so I've noticed this every winter when the salt trucks are on a rampage in my area and I use the windshield wiper fluid every 30 seconds (not literally).

But whenever I go to clear the salt and or other debris off of my windshield on the Highway most of the remaining fluid flows down in that little dip right below the windshield (the Piece that has the AC/Heater air intake on it) and at Highway speeds all it does is splash back up on the glass which then requires more fluid and then the vicious cycle begins! :frown:

I know its a strange and petty problem but its something that bugs me slightly :redface:

Any solutions you guys might have?

just let it build up so its evenly dirty then you just get used to it

Actually Im back in northern Maryland and we have the snow issue here in the winter... I just forgot to adjust my profile lol

I do what PK does and use the wipers with no washer spray for awhile at the end to use up the reserve already about the windshield.

My wipers always go for two or three strokes more after I stop spraying anyway.....

if i need fluid i usually do the short shots too... but every once in a while the spray from the car in front of you gives you an even coating that is pretty easy to get used to :-)

i always do the same thing (short bursts of liquid) but when theres dried salt on the windshield more liquid is needed :-/

In my opinion, the washer nozzles are aimed wrong, the spray hits the wipers or below (when in motion). Very little fluid ever makes it up to the average person's line of sight....where the window needs to be cleaned.

One of my future projects is to find nozzles that will get the fluid stream above the wiper.

Ummm.... I think you'll find that if you stick a pin in the washer hole, you can rotate it and aim it wherever the heck you want.
Mine have always been find, so I haven't tried on the Yaris, but I have never owned a car that could be aimed like this (in 40 years of driving)

in salty conditions i get right up behind a truck and get the fresh upsplash and use that vs my washer fluid

Yeah the splash up always starts the problem :-/
