Hi,

I bought the OEM cruise control and took it to a mechanic to install it. He installed it on the steering wheel and cut a whole and everything but I guess you need to run wires for it to work. He didn't know how and I don't feel comfortable doing it.

If anyone has done it to their cars and are willing to do it on mine, please let me know how much you would do it for.

I would really appreciate it.

Thank you very much.
I live in Irvine btw.

Too bad you're on the left coast, as I have been looking for someone local that wants cruise installed on a 07 or 08. We have many separate DIYs, but I've been wanting to do a soup to nuts install to fully document the process.

I have the pins that you'll need for the install (if you are interested):

I wish you were near me. That would have been perfect.
I don't know if I can do it otherwise I would have no problems at all buying your custom made pins. If you can show me step by step with pictures what I should do, I may try it I don't know. I am worried I will plug it in somewhere and mess up the electrical system.

It's really not that bad, especially since the airbag removal part is already complete. Link #6 in my FAQ below shows the details of adding the pin at the ECM. The other two pins go into connector D3 on the steering column, which currently only has the one wire for the horn on your car. One of those pins connects to the wire to the ECM pin, and the other gets connected to a ground point.

So, don't I have to remove airbags etc again to connect one part of your pins to the Cruise Control? Also, how do I run the other end of your cable to the engine bay?

If your mechanic connected the wire from the cruise control stalk to the spiral cable (AKA clockspring) then the airbag doesn't have to come back off, since you just have to make the connections at the other end of the spiral cable.

The wire to the ECM pin can be run through the firewall in a few different places, but most people bring it through the grommet for the AC drain hose, which is about a foot below the ECM.
