Looking for new tires. Anybody get any good deals lately. I bought from Tirerack last time but the shipping and mounting eats most of the savings.

Hankook H727! Cheap but rated almost as good as the best. Pepboys may still have a discount.

Support your local Mom and Pop tire dealer you'll get a better price and better customer service..No such thing as cheap priced tires anymore..You can always get a nice set of junkie china tires..

Sam's Club

This is what I have done in recent years. Not necessarily because they have the best price but because each time I check their work the air pressures and lug nut torque is spot on. Good price and (at least locally) good service.

I looked at Sam's Club too. Very expensive, and only carried two brands in the Yaris size.

I agree.
I bought these tires here...http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findTireDetail.do?c=1&rcz=48304&ar=60&rf=true&rd=15&rc=MIDINT&cs=185&dVeh=dVeh&tc=HANPT5&yr=2009&pc=11275&cf=false&vid=015625&sw=false... and they've been great. They've been through their first Michigan winter with ease. I fly by SUVs in the snow with my Yaris. Fun stuff.
Good tire price plus the 100,000 mile warranty is a pretty good deal.

I went to the local Goodyear service center and had eagles installed for about $5 cheaper (per tire) than TireRacks price. Handling the snow really well, so far...another 10" is expected tonight

OTD price: $360.00 for set of 4 :)

Scrap yards usually have used tires for about $5-$10 each.

I agree with Swid : I'm about to get a set of hankook 727 and they where the cheapest around. 460$ out the door at my local mechanics.

Hi,
I suggest Hankook H727 for you as these tires are also good for winter also to run on the snow easily without creating problem. cheaper than others.
These days i am listening praises of these tires.
Thanks

hate to do a topic revival, but I've got a '09 yaris sedan and was wondering if those hankooks would be good for my car too?

As a chick, I don't know s@#$ about cars so I don't want to shop blindly haha. I got my yaris at about 45k miles (it was previously a rental car from Hertz, so I'm assuming the tires have mainly highway miles) so I *think* it's time for me to get new tires? It's at about 47k miles now I think.

I did a penny test on the tread, and most of the tires barely reach or reach abe's head.

If they are good for my car, I think I'm gonna go with the discount tires direct website because pepboys has these tires for about $100 each x___x;;

and would you think it's necessary I buy the tire replacement warranty? Thanks :)

Yes, the Hankook 727 is an excellent tyre and will work very well on your sedan.

I would recommend replacing with 195/60/15's @ $82 each at discounttiredirect.com

EDIT: Plus, there is currently a $40 discount on the Hankooks... so just $72 each delivered to your door!

Went with Hankook 727 from TireRack.com Got 4 delivered for 331 and got a mail in rebate 0f 40. Mount and balance at walmart included disposal of old tires for 48 so Total cost for the 4 tires was 340 dollars...............Great price for 4 hankook 727 tires

So i just found out the tire size on my car is 185/60/15 ... should i stick to that size?

and since discount tire upped their hankook's to $100, and tirerack has them for $72 plus shipping, does anyone have feedback on tirerack since they'll come out cheaper?

if not, i'll go through amazon (they're out of stock on the 185/60/15's but have free shipping and are relatively close in price to tirerack)

I would replace with these from discounttiredirect.com

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=11314&counter=1&ar=60&rd=15&sw=false&cs=195

IMHO, the 195/60/15's make for a much better fitment on the Yaris... and the price is excellent with the rebates, plus free shipping!

thank you (: so it won't be a safety problem or anything changing the tire size?

nope. The size is REALLY close to cause any kind of problem. In fact you'll be getting more thread width, therefore improving your grip a bit.

Tires are the only thing that phsyically connect your car to the ground.... don't' skimp on these. By a decent set.

The Continental Pro Contact Eco Plus are working very well for the '08 sedan , seems like a different car when it comes to the ride , handling , and noise level . They were $92 each , before tax .

Problem is some inexpensive off-brand tyres can be very "decent" while some name-brand pricey tyres can be crap.
