Ok, I finally got a chance to finish the Yaris Exhaust. From the Header all the way back.
For My application I used 2.5 inch 304 SS. I used 2.5" because I did not want to refab for the turbo application.
I will have finished the jig this week as well so that reproducing the exhaust would be simple.
The exhaust incorporates 2 resonators and no muffler.
It will be evident why I did this when you see the pics and I explain. For my application I ran a resonator where the High flow cat would be.
I"ll post pics of the cat as well so that members can see what they have an option to put into the exhaust.
The one we will be selling will have 1 High Flow cat, followed by the O2 bung for cat efficiency, high flow resonator, mounting brackets for stock hangers, and SS flanges. The tubing will be high quality 304 SS fully tigwelded for durability and quality.
Now the axle back is made to order as per the customers request. Anything is possible, we just need to know what you want done. I'm only offering our services because I own a Yaris and road race the car with heavy modifications. Its hard to find good parts for this car so I just want to promote the community a bit.
I have built quite a few exhausts for scions and a yaris this past week so I figured why not help out the community.
If anyone is interested please let me know. From the header up to the axle back (midpipe with cat and resonator) is $500. Axle backs will vary in price as design and materials will vary with the client.
I will post pics of my setup for comparison in the morning.

Thanks for reading.

I do plan on putting a turbo I my car come the spring time... So I don't need the headers... But please PM me and let me know how much for the rest of it and shipping to 19437. Also do you have a phone number for me to call you and talk about how I want the Axelback? How does this thing sound? This is something I want to do sometime this week!

Actually mine is a bit louder because there isn't a cat in the system nor a chambered muffler.
The exhaust comes FROM the header back to the axle. It does not include the header as many have the Megan option which fundamentaly is sound and cost effective.
You can reach me at DTM Motorsport (703) 661-8885
M-F 9-6pm.
And you are not too far at all. I'll find out about the shipping on monday.

Normally I polish the piping slightly, but for my car I chose not too.
The first resonator would be replaced by a high flow cat, unlike my setup.
Let me know if anyone has any questions.

So at the tail end, there will still be a flange at the stock angle, so as to bolt up the stock, or better yet, TRD high flow muffler?

Yes any production axle back will fit as well.

Looking good! I'll be contacting when I'm ready for this. I'll probably request just the piping from header to axle back, with a single resonator in place of the cat. I'll still use the Tanabe axle back muffler since I'm not going turbo yet and would like to keep the car somewhat reasonable sounding. When/if I go turbo, I'll replace the axle back section with a larger diameter straight through muffler.

sounds reasonable :)

Maybe have it where you can bolt on a regular axle back, and have them send ya a pipe that goes straight back with no muffler :)

Is it legal to take out the stock cat? How is the long term reliability of the hi-flow cats?

a setup like I just mentioned above to 60443? :) I have my magnaflow muffler, and the sound is good like it is... but as I plan to do a power adder later on, it would be nice to have the free flowing exaust for race day.

I don't need anything polished etc, I'm looking to keep the cost down as much as possible.

Unless you plan on going over 300HP the 2.25 exhaust will be good for turbo as well.
That way you won't have to spend the money twice.

My exhaust technically is NOT because I did not incorporate a cat. I run a celfix to eliminate any codes. That way passing smog isn't an issue.
BUT the exhaust I am making for you guys WILL have a cat if you want one and that will be perfectly street legal. You would be surprised how well the cat flows. It will not hinder performance.

If I can find someone close to come in one day I'll make one for them as well.

The high flow cats are just as reliable if not more reliable than some oem makes. I do have to say however that the toyota cats are very good.
They do flow quite well. The ones I use are stainless units inside and out that will never rust. Unlike some of the "summit" racing stuff like CATCO that isn't worth the flanges they are welded to.
Now as far as legality is concerned, you are not allowed to remove the stock cats by federal law. BUT I have just changed the entire "Exhaust Line" Meaning I did not cut the cat out and run straight pipe. I am replacing parts.
Really I'm stretching the rules a bit, but so does 90% of the aftermarket community.
I will eventually run a cat once the turbo setup is finalized. There isn't a good argument that anyone can present to say that they shouldn't be on the car.

I am interested as long as it is completely "bolt-on". I would seriously consider buying it in early April as I am currently finishing up my "Tercel JDM Project (http://usantonio.com/jdm_turbo_project.htm)"

However I would also like the "axle back" section using a resonator instead of the muffler with the same diameter (2.5") and ss piping.
How much more for the axle back plus total shipping to 08054?
Thanks.
