Interesting design... Care to share some of the technical details (muffler model, pipe diameter, etc)? Also, did you feel any loss of power after the swap? Is the car louder now?

How about temperature? It seems that anything you place on the trunk will get cooked! Is the aluminum sheeting enough to keep things cool back there?

:respekt:

The power noticeably increased after the install. It's louder, but not very loud. I really like the sound, its a very deep growl.

I don't know the specific model number for the muffler. It's an aftermarket design for the current body style BMW M3 and the tip is a modified C5 corvette SLP tip. the piping is stock up until the muffler and 2.5" from muffler to tip.

I was already planning to axe the spare wheel and since the muffler is WAY too big for the car stock a new trunk floor was fabricated to accommodate the muffler

Very sweet! Any pics of the car from the back-end to get the whole view?

It's Steel, with a layer of spray on sound deadner/thermal insulation then a layer of dynamat and the factory trunk floor. No heat issues at all. The dynamat has stayed cool to the touch so far.
