Bound to be faster and more furious than ever before, the fifth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise is set to open in a theater near you on April 29, 2011. Once again starring Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris, but with the addition of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, this is sure to kick off the summer movie season with a bang –not to mention lots of star power to get the kiddies interested. The flick, cleverly titled Fast Five, just got its first movie poster. We see the two main stars in some unidentifiable muscle cars with very serious looks on their faces. Clearly, these men live their lives a quarter mile at a time.

I thought the only part they got right in 1 was the scene where everyone was eating bbq chicken and drinkin beers after a long day of wrenching on cars. I lived through that in So-Cal. the racing and the shooting and the wheelies and the flying thru the air? not so much.

Meh, if anything it should be called "The Fast and the Furious: Detroit 3 edition". Hope it isn't just one big Detroit 3 commercial like how Transformers was for GM.

For those who think the franchise is worn out and run its course....

It opened with an $86 million weekend (US only), an April record! This beats the $71M take of the fourth installment. Each film beats the last, why would they stop?

This is also the biggest opening ever for Universal Pictures, not exactly a small distributor.

hell yeah I saw it...first movie other than Limitless that I have seen in the theater that has warranted me spending another 10 bucks to see in the the cinemas. My only complaint would be the obvious shots showing the stunt doubles on the train scene, but other than that I seriously enjoyed it...not to mention the allusion to another sequel after the credits or at least a spin off.
