View Full Version : Cheap plastics...

I've got big plans for my 4dr this coming summer. I've come to terms with the fact that getting the car to look the way I want it to is going to be a long, arduous process (New England is not kind to car interiors, and I'm a bit of a slob, too), but I'm already hashing out some plans for what I want done.

I can't help but notice the plastics/polys on the interior seem really cheaply made - the plastic backing behind my rear seats is cracked, and the center armrest is starting to split up front. Anyone know where I'd be able to locate a replacement armrest, and how invasive of a replacement is that?

I happen to have the armrest I removed from my hatchback - is it the same as the one in the sedan?

As for for plastic... painting it black might make it look cooler?

I guess I am confused. I have an 07 sedan and my interior dealt with 4 New England winters and taking 3 dogs even on rides all the time. My interior is still in excellent condition. Are you still under warranty? Have you attempted to address your cracking, etc with Toyota themselves? I would think that those that live in the south would have more of an issue with that. Do you not ever condition your interior panels? What is it that you are looking to do with your interior?
