should we add a section maybe under "forced Induction" threads for swaps? i have a feeling in the near future this may be a more common thing like the civics had going

For one, you'll need metal cutting and welding equipment as the 1ZZ won't fit between the frame rail without cutting.

in puerto rico is hard to find the 2zrfe in the junkers y can buy for $500 1zz engine 2006 includes wiring, alternator and a/c compressor, $100 or less for the ecu.

Ivan its hard to find a 2zz but when you find it its totally worth it!! trust me dont waste money on a 1zz cause you will not gain as much hp like a 2zz.

Honestly..... I wanna see someone put the xD 1.8 in our USDM and a DIY with some pictures with parts would also rock....
Having drove a few xDs....that motortranny setup in our light car would be fun.....

Sorry, I see it only now so I tell what I'm living these days. I broke 1nz engine couple weeks ago and I've to decide if rebuild (mine is rally engine) or try to swap 2zz. Probably I need less money if I swap a 2zz revving 8200 from toyota.
This is my very intense live experience.

Guys.. there is a difference between a 2zz and a 2zr.. the 2zr is what comes in the 1.8 TS, or the scion xD commonly available in North America.
The 2ZR is almost bolt-on the Yaris... and there is a thread about it already..

Ye I know difference from 1nz, 1zz, 2zz and 2zr... Matter is I find all race parts for my 1nz or for 1zz e 2zz. But what I know no race parts for 2zr. Then is not worth for me to keep a 2zr engine so less powerful than mine. I have 11.5 comp ratio bigger pistons, forged rods, bigger valves, titanium retainers, 264-9.5 cams, counterweight crank, bigger TB, inox intake manifold, alu pulleys, and then complete kaaz c60 gearing + final + lsd. If I decide to swap I take 2zz having 11.5 comp ratio and 292-11/276-10 cams from toyota and made to rev 8500. My 1nz is made to rev 6500 and I rev 8200. Well if I decide to rebuild 1nz I go for 8500-8800rpm with 272-10,5 cams and I invent something avoiding to break again. Maybe u look at scion xd 2zr greddy turbo engine making 265hp. I love hi rev squeel like my car engine is a bike one. And believe me it is.
If I go 1nz turbo I take gt30 to rev at least 8000 and make 400hp. Problem is engine revs 20 min and then

I really don't know. I adjust ecu with emanage ultimate by notebook.
I know for sure 2 years ago I had only 264-9.5 cams, cone filter, light weight flywheel and crank pulley, oem block and tranny, oem ecu: my 1.5 1nzfe yaris was much faster than 1.8 2zrfe yaris. When 1.8 yaris owner told me he was oem 132hp it was big surprise to me. Then I thought I was 140! Currently I have a pure rally car very much faster than before.
Big work with it through years....

A stock 2ZR is no match for you, a stock 2ZR puts down 118whp, but a slightly touched 2ZR intake, throttle, header, exhaust and some other tricks can put down more than 30whp+ putting the 1NZ in to no match... Stock 2ZR are heavily restricted for fuel economy... 1ZZ are able to hit 170whp the 2ZR I am sure can pass that...
Down side is if you are in competition from 1.5 to 1.8 will move you to another category and comparing it to other 1.8 the 2ZR and 1ZZ are out classed... Well anyway thats just my opinion and my trusted research...

Thanks 4 your thought. I'm not involved in racing. Only I'm passionate with car tecnique evolution. U see F1 1500cc turbo made 1000hp and more..
U see 1.4 fiat or citroen/peugeot turbo engines making 600hp. I bought my yaris 1nz in 2003 and after 10 years I said no reason to believe my engine could not reach good performances.
I can tell my 1.5 1nz had 264-9.5 cams, cone filter, aluminium flywheel and I was much faster than 1.8 2zr yaris. Now I have true race engine so no sense to look for comparison. Sure 1.8 1zz starts in advantage and more there are so many proven mods to make huge power. But I checked it is hard to put it in my engine bay so I will go looking for more with my 1nz. This is good engine capable of giving good sensations.
