Wussup guys, this evening I was on my way to work and felt the car funny, I have 2007 at/Sedan just so that you know, and it felt if that the car was on low gear, but it was in drive, I pulled over to check the engine bay and nothing. When I turned the car on again the check engine light came on( I was like HOLY SH!T I need a transmission now) so I went a bit further and called the wife, to bring me some tools to verify. 10 mins later, she gave me the tools and I found nothing out of the ordinary. So what I did was unhooked the battery for 10 mins and then connected her again, check engine gone and the car was running normal, this is strange WTF happened here. Now yesterday I did wash my engine and I keep her clean never had this problem could this be the cause of it, really IDK, but she is running fine now, has any one ever gone through this or is this just some freak accident. I also for got to mention when the car was in drive the L gear was also on WTF, any idea guys?

I don't have one but I got buddy who does, I'll have him check it then, but the car is running like it should, no problems thus far, it might have been a sensor that is wet I think not sure thou

well i think that since you disconnected the battery and reset the code, u wont be able to pull it any more.. should pulled the code when the light was on.. although you could try, it may still be in the history.

I had the checked and as of now nothing was registering meaning a flaw or a misfire, which is good news, the car is working fine and I'm very happy for that. Thanks to all who posted trying to find a solution, thanks guys.

$40 will get a cheap ODBII reader/scanner/re-setter.

With the electronic sophistication of modern cars, it's almost a must when confronted with a MIL.

You can at least use this to verify what your mechanic is telling you to keep them honest.

I hear you, but so that you know my friend works in Toyota and he knows the money I spend on my baby, and the time as well. It all came down to a wet sensor, sh!t happens as they say. But this weekend we are going to use a silicone spray on certain sensors so history doesn't repeat itself, but thanks for the info you concern for the matter is appreciated, thanks buddy

You said you washed the car. Did you wash under the hood? Do you have an aftermarket intake? If you cleaned under the hood, did you use any chemicals?

Certain cleaners, like "Purple Cleaner" can actually eat away at the rubber seals on electrical connectors. On my old Jeep, I learned that the hard way after replacing a bunch of the sensors.

Have you checked the trans fluid level? Color? Does it smell like burning?

I agree, next time try to get the code pulled/scanned. That will tell you a lot.

HA, I guess wash the car again, hope it happens while close to home, and read the code.

^lol, I've washed my motor since I brought the car never had a problem with it, until the other day. What we use is green chemical called Doctor mechanic which is a product. But you are right thou, I'm going to get a scanner for cases like this, but so far so good, thanks for the input
