Can the alarm tones be turned off or eliminated. I've already taken care of the lights. Thanks.

They can be turned off with the Toyota TechStream tool or eliminated by removing the piezo beeper from the back of the speedo circuit board.

Is there a how to for removing the beeper and does that beeper cover any other tones that might be needed?

The beeper is also used for the key reminder, door open warning, and e-brake warning.

I don't think there is a DIY for removing it, but there are a couple of threads that show how to take the cluster apart. To remove it you can desolder its two pins or gently rock it back and forth until the leads snap.

OK thanks. We may just learn to live with the sound. I miss the old days where all you had to do was unplug the dang noise maker. LOL

I'll probably be sorry for asking but, why don't you just buckle the seat belt?
The life you save could be yours.

We do when on the interstate but on the local roads we don't. There is hardly any traffic in this small town and it just seems silly to constantly buckle and unbuckle up all the time. Plus the local cops don't even wear their belts.

Our Local and State Police will GLADLY give you a ticket for not wearing the seat belt.

That's a great idea! Thanks:bow:
I wonder if any sellers on ebay carry them? Or maybe seat belt extentions:thumbup:

FWIW..... many studies indicate that most accidents happen within 10 miles of home.

My dealer reprogrammed my Yaris when it was new to only beep 2x when the seatbelt is not buckled.

That would be cool too. I just ordered a couple belt plugs for 20 bucks.
