canadian made ..i got one and had for 3 years.. looks cool with the reverse cone although cone dimension is pretty small compare to other filters.,...

do u think its better than aem...it looks more restrictive

reason why i went with this is because of the looks and the way its set up..gap on the hood when it rain can get the filter wet but not with this set up.. but it does look restrictive vs the others.

I got the first one. My car was test mule for prototype. Comparable to AEM. One thing going for the PRM is that it doesn't particularly look like all the other SRI offerings out there. Kinda unique in that respect.

Filter design creates a vortex effect.

there you go.. take it from the original prototype mule..lol... but i didnt know it creates a vortex effect...really??

i wish they had dyno results, it definatly is more unique looking. i just want to see wich of the two have better airflow before i make a decision.

THERE IS ONE I THINK HERE.. http://www.prmracing.com/

if you do intake and exhaust at the same time you might actually notice a difference but intake alone..not much on bottom end but top end will pull better.

That's my video, and somewhere on here I have the dyno.

Easier to post it again. Bad copy since I never received electronic version.

thanks for the info and dyno sheet

That's a cool filter design. It would be even better if it was built like a velocity stack though.http://www.pashnit.com/pics/products/factory_pro/velocity_stax/Velocity_stack_workings.GIF

^ It's close. Much closer than the standard cone filter for sure.

r the filters interchangable, like could i get a dry flow filter, i dont like the oil filters

keep in mind that wee's car is autotragic too (for gains)

haha as is mine unfortunatly

How is filter maintenance/replacement handled?

How is filter maintenance/replacement handled?

Exactly the same as a K&N or any other oiled filter. Should never really need to be replaced.

No recent pics. I run stock air box in the winter.

i just ended up ordering the weapon r intake, the prm just looks like the overall design is so much more restrictive

During my dyno run, a chap with a Matrix was testing the PRM filter. He had a AFE or AEM, can't remember which. Did a pull with the AFE/AEM intake. Then swapped just the filter with a PRM. Did another pull, and made more power with the PRM.

Dperry

were was the power gain? coldair power gains r high in the rpm, wile short ram air the power is downlow in the rpm

Can't remember. All I do recall is peak whp was greater with the PRM. Keep in mind that his experiment was to compare the PRM filter, the part which you no doubt view as restrictive, with the cone filter of the intake he was currently running.

Dperry

i think the whole intake looks more restrictive because the cone is backwards inside the tube only alouding air thru the front rather than the entire filter. i could b wrong it could absolutly b awsome but i just went with my gut feeling

I believe I can vouch for those dyno results. It was my 08 being tested.
NOTE: It had the TRD exhaust on it at the time which may be the reason the baseline is a touch higher then a completely stock sample may demonstrate.

Overall I'm liking this intake a lot. cold airs were never my thing due to inducing clutter, and SRI's tend to be louder. I think I might bite.:burnrubber:

my intake will be here monday(weapon r sri) so after i get it installed ill take a vid with revs and under load. iv only found one usdm yaris with vid of the intake and it was on dyno and it sounds awsome in my opinion.

Gonna jump on it. Should compliment my exhaust nicely. :D
