Hi everyone!

I am new here. But I am watching a lot of postings from you for a long time.

Now, I have got a problem with my 2009 yaris (vitz).

There are a "big" plastic noise while driveing.
I got it located under/beside the drivers airvent.
And it stops when I lift/pull up the plastic in the knee-area under the steeringwheel!!

I think, it is the mount area of the dash ...

My plan is, to remove the dashboard an underlay it with "felt-sticker" or foam.

So my big question is: do I have to remove the complete dashboard?
If yes, can someone give me some kind of manual for this job? (pictures prefered :) )

Or is it possible to reach this area just by removeing the plastic parts under the steering wheel?

I would be veeery happy, if someone could give me some assistance ..

Here is the link to the repair manual. It is the 2007 version, but the dash is the same for your 2009. See page 113 of the "Air Conditioning" section:

Ah!

I knew this page before...

!!!!!!!!!! Is it so easy to remove the dash? 4 Screws? and just remove the radio before?
is it realy necessary to remove the side-airbag covers first?

Thank you guys!

Thank you guys!

It is fairly easy. Remove radio trim, radio, speedometer trim. speedometer, cup holder screws, other two screws, and the A-pillar trim.

You do have to remove the A-pillar trim (side airbag covers), because they sit on top of the dash.

i found a screw in the frame Area, whitch wasnt tied ob as it should.

i think this was a reason, too.
