I could not say for sure that it is an advantage, it is just a different style of bar. It does offer a range of adjustment, so if the ability to tune your rear bar is important it might be advantages for you - that is the reason we chose it over the other stuff on the market. I hate not having options.

Does this model mount to pre-existing mounting points (factory holes) or is some drilling/fabricating necessary for install?

Installation instructions can be found using the link in the first post. It is a direct bolt on, no fabrication or drilling required.

if i didnt just get my 19mm i would have wanted to give this a try
what are those things around it just locks ? or is that part of mounting it ?

This bar mounts to the beam and the ends near the spring/shock mounts.
