View Full Version : Wheel experts - what are these?!
I've been searching all over the web. There is no brand. Made in Taiwan.

Kinda cool. Where is your pic from?
There's a picture posted. If you're at work, Photobucket may be blocked.
My pic is from me, I bought them.

Ship them to me for closer inspection.
Haha all. I do believe they may be some sort of Porsche replica wheel. At least Porsche inspired. There is nothing on either side of the wheel. I'm clueless as to what they are.
I did get them on this morning though, loving them. I could use some coilovers and a little rear camber sometime soon.

Definitely not a Porsche logo, but a good look-alike from a distance. That one appears to have a stork (or an eagle with a veeeerrrryyyyyyy long neck) in the centre, instead of the Porsche's prancing horse with Stuttgart written over it.
^ Yeah I did notice they're not exact. But very similar. These are made in Taiwan so definitely not real Porsche wheels (plus they're 17" 4x100, never happened.)

I didn't like them when I fist saw your thread, but now that I see them on the car I think they look very good!

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha....
Ryan? Stick with one wheel? Where would the rest of us score cheap(er) wheels from if he did?
Haha. Thanks all.
And here's another shot. Put on a Thule roof rack fairing.

They look wheely good.

Yeah, they're screwed. All of the salt from the winter destroyed them. Same with my front grill. I'll probably just paint them with a rubberized black so they last next time.

Dude, that's one sharp little yaris. Those wheels look great. Can't wail until my Thule fairing gets here.
^ Thanks, man! You rolling down to Import Alliance this year? We have a little group coming from Ohio heading down together.

Sounds like fun, but highly unlikely. I'm planning a wedding for July so that's where most of my funds will be going this year. lol
^ Ah gotcha. Well congrats!

You got it.
I couldn't think of the name until you said it, but I knew I seen them somewhere.
I have a Car Stereo Review or Auto Sound and Security mag that I saw them in.... Shaq has them on his Navigator in chrome.

Either of you see the model name? I looked up "Niche wheels" and didn't really see much. Thanks!

Thanks! The wheels are 17x7.5 +40 wrapped with 205/40/17's. 12mm hub spacers in rear. I'm on DF210's with the front being clamped ~.5" lower.

Looks quite sharp Ryan. Not gonna say anything about the weight. Ooops, I just kinda did
You keep showing us the right side of the car. Is that because the sweeping spokes look a little strange going the other direction on the left?

These are the closest things I've found by Niche... but I don't think their exactly the same. I've never seen them in silver and they logos are wrong unless they've been changed with something else.

Damn close! Just one too many spokes.

They don't look strange but the passenger side does look better. But it wasn't intentional to only show the passenger side actually!
Ignore my destroyed fog light bezels.

Yeah, they do look good on.
A "strange" thing about the yaris HB HB is, wheels that you would not ordinarily like usually look pretty good on the Yaris.
I suspect this is due to the fact that the HB has very clean lines and most wheels will compliment it without clashing with the body lines, etc.

Love them!
These go really well with the color of your car too!

Yeah I've noticed this too! Even the CRX phone dials that are hideous on all other cars look decent.

Thanks Saggio - means a lot coming from the best looking Yaris out there (when you had those XXR's )!
I had sold these to a guy in Kentucky and just bought them back last night. He had re-sprayed them black so I took a few hours to refinish them last night.
Re-finished 3 out of 4 last night successfully. I tried to use a polishing wheel to grind out some scratches and made some grooves in the metal on the last one, will have to fix that today.

That's pretty funny that you chased them down and bought them back. In all the research that you did on them, did you ever find out if they were made in left and rights, or are they all the same?
Yes - the "real" Niche wheels were directionals and had lefts and rights.
And I couldn't let them go - I've had 25 sets of wheels on my Yaris and these were by far the best looking to me.

Good looking rims... would be interesting to see them in black on your Yaris!
^ I didn't like them in black, but I'm usually not a fan of black full-faced wheels. But here is the PO's car with them.

Those wheels look terrible in black! But, I'm also not a fan of any black "full-faced" wheels.
