Hi all,

Just after some advice for my '07 Yaris please.

Bought it on 25th June '10 and just ticked over to 40k on clock, so service is due as well as approaching warranty expiry. Tax is due at end of May and also need to renew the insurance at end of June. On top of that, the front tyres probably need replacing in the next few months.

This is my first car, so any tips on the best order to do everything in? For example, is there anything the MOT/service would pick up that the warranty would cover? Should I take it to Toyota for all the above? Any point in renewing Club Toyota?

Any advice would be great!

Cheers.

Tire's aren't covered under warranty - but would be needed to pass a safety inspection if you're due for that. (A brand new car with 10,000km or less can be argued with the tire manufacturer if there are defects in the tires - most people don't know this but i received pamphlets from Toyota when I bought the car new)

which service are you going in for? if it's the maintenance service they're gonna charge you for things you probably don't need to do. if just an oil change, then thats around $40

If the fronts are going bad, and you're not driving on winter weather for a while, why not rotate the good one's to the front and let them wear out evenly -- replace all four tires and you can usually find a "buy 3, get the 4th tire free" deals. You'll need a jack stand... then use the jack that's under the driver's seat, and the wheel nut wrench in the trunk...nothing can go wrong DIY.
