I got a 2007 hatchback and I want to buy a short shifter since my second is having problems when it goes in. the Mec. told me it is the sincronizers that are bad andby doing this it will give me a good shift. Problem.. there are almost none to buy and the rest are real expensive. is there any compatible short shift from another model? I was told that the corolla 93-97 will fit and the ones from scion xa. can someone help

No, a short shifter from a Corolla will not fit your Yaris. The short shifter is the same for the Echo, Yaris and the first gen xB and xA since they all share the same platform.
Don't install a short shifter to fix a problem like the one you have. It's the transmission that has an issue the way you describe it, and changing the shifter will not make it better in any way.
Have the transmission issue fixed, then install a short shifter if you want to have a more positive and precise shift feeling. But don't install a short shifter to fix a transmission issue.
