Hello there!!
I am new to all this modification world and to be honest, a little ignorant. I have a 2008 Sedan and I wanted to make some mods to it. Originally I wanted to start with an TRD (or K & N) intake and a performance chip, but I read here that the chips suck; they are scam. So What do you guys suggest?
Thanks in advance!

a little research will take you way farther than making a post that's been done a million times
but to answer your question...in order.
cai (cheap)
shocks/springs (cheap if you can do your own work)
rear swaybar (really cheap)
exhaust (kinda expensive since there's no real market)
header (can be cheap)
midpipe (middle)
strut bars (cheap)
lower profile tires/rims (expensive)
any other opinions or woulda-shoulda's can be found on any other of these types of threads. everyone has an opinion. this is the way i should have gone with my camaro and i plan on with my yaris....even though i've had it 2 years and havent done anything yet. i'm doing wheels first based SOLELY on the fact that i need tires NOW, and i may as well spend money on rims/tires instead of just tires...
It all starts with a rear sway and ends up

What was the point of this post? Trying to give yourself a barg or something? He asked what some mods were, not what your mod list was. I'm pretty sure thats what the members ride section is for. :-\
chillax dudette.. she was just posting the mods on her car towards the OP. just giving the guy some options if the rear sway bar isnt the first thing he wanted to go with... nothing wrong with a little showing off your hard work to the new members
Your right ! I also wanted to point out it starts with a sway and ends up with a long list.... Notice the lol...
Oh and btw if I wanted to brag it's going to be about our 1970 lt1 stingray or 1970 ra3 trans am NOT the yaris for sure....

so counter what are you like 35 going on 60 ....
If you wanted to brag about those cars I wouldnt care either. I wouldnt brag about them either, every 65 year old man in my neighborhood has one of those cars, not rare,
Well that tells me your knowledge about rare cars ,it's nil...have a good life, not worth anymore words.

I just installed my UR 19mm rear sway a few days ago. I'm really happy with it. Easy install, fairly cheap, greatly improved the handling characteristics of the Yaris even with stock suspension. It goes where you point it now, without having feeling like you're tossing rocks in your rear end.
The rear sway has always been a fav mod of mine in terms of bang for the buck.

I agree, suspension and good tires make driving more fun... Tires are a big deal.. If you can't keep traction it's all for nothing.

maybe this "mod" is a given not worth mentioning, but you can lighten your car by about 100 pounds by stripping out the spare tire, jack, tools, owners manual, etc. this does make a noticeable difference

does it make a difference???.....
I recommend removing the one closest to the manifold....
Cats retains lots of heat....
your Yaris manifold "heatshield" isn't really that effective...
especially after a drive and you come to a halt.
I always have a problem with Engine bay Heat management.....

I use my air scoop on hood to direct air to header/ cat .. Works well . Stole idea from the celica.
I talked to some TRD represatives about the issue of what exactly is the celica hoodscoop used for ? I was told it's mostly for drag/downforce issues and some engine airflow characteristics. Helping with higher speed stability of the FWD. And air circulation around the motor for cooler under hood temps. They said blocking off the scoop or hindering the airflow lessens the airflow through the engine bay and decreases areodynamics.

That's what I need a hood with a air scoop:biggrin:

The exhaust isn't what's making you engine bay hot, it's the hot air going through the rad. You'd need a shroud to vent the air under the car or even better, out the hood with louvers.

Extractors on the hoods work excellent.

too bad i just got it installed last night.. but does it have to snow today oh well its all good.
my review:
no way in hell i could have put this on by myself it was so tight to get the upper bolts to line up needed a couple of hammering to get it in but once in everything lines up.. tighter on turns and also did notice less bounciness on the back end when ever i drive on those ripples on the street of toronto ..then it snowed this morning so i was like shi% do i need to drift now.. overall im happy with the product!
thanks garm "MICROIMAGE"
