Ok I have read the same story a couple times and I dont get it. If u are buying a new car why would u settle for a color u dont want or one with out the options u want? The whole point of buying a new car is to get exactly what u want. If you want a blue car dont settle for a pink one. If you want power windows dont settle for crank. The dealer trys getting u into another one tell them what u want or leave.

if you can settle for whats on the lot... you get it now...
otherwise you can wait months.

Although many people on the forums are very enthusiastic about what they want, it still boils down to what we need, which quite simply is four wheels and 34/40 MPG.
Quite frankly I would have settled for a fuschia Yaris with burlap seats if it got 40 MPG highway.

I never would have bought my Yaris if it was Meteorite or Bayou blue.
I could not own a car with a color I did not like. To me honest I probably would not have taken anything but Polar White.
Some people will make concessions on unimportant things. Just for kicks here is the list of options in order of importance to me.
Price- My Yaris stickered for $12,560 and the next option range up was over 13k
Manual trans-Even if the automatic was $500 cheaper I still would have gone with the manual trans.
Color-Polar white is the sharpest color IMO. I would have settled for red, black or blazing blue.
I am going to buy a Dodge Challenger once it comes out. I will not settle when it comes to buying a $40k car.

I mainly focused on a good economy car with a manual tranny, abs, and power features. Car color was not my main focus, atleast for this being my daily driver.

I ordered mine with everything I wanted, right down to the color & the alloy wheels. Only had to wait 3 weeks, yea... even that long just about killed me and I pretty much abused my Olds Cutlass those last 3 weeks but I made it. And I'm glad I waited!

I got the car I wanted but the color. According to the salesman, they did not know when where they going to get a Blazing HB, and after seeing the Meteorite in person I knew I wasn't going to regret not waiting. I got a car that looked better faster!

I got my red yaris cuz point
1 - i needed a cheap car ASAP!
2 - me mum wouldnt let me buy any other brand
3 - I got the car from the dealership right there and then and im so happy that it was a YRS model (the one with the 1.5L engine)
Though im happy with red and happy with my YRS model. If i had to choose a colour it woulda have been Blue, Black or IF THE DAMN YARIS HATCH MADE THE SEDAN RED I WOULDA TAKEN THAT COLOUR SO BAD! im jealous of that sedan red...so hot

not settling here. ordered october 19th. car is currently being prepped at the ports (vip alarm, optional alloys, armrest). soon enough we will be driving one of the rarest vehicles in socal, a black yaris liftback auto WITH side airbags and power package. worth the wait?? the recent crash test results definitely say so. my wife will be driving this car as a commuter, so it was either a 3-4 month wait, or the possibility of raising my daughter as a single parent. YEAH, we'll wait!
