Yes, it comes with two lifts. :thumbsup:

Says not recommended for carbon hoods, but they seem to work fine with mine (just a tiny bit on the stiff side).

some of these aftermarket hood struts have a release pressure valve to help with the stiffness on carbon fiber hoods.. does this not have one?

i think my friend had a Tein one if im not mistaken.. i remember it had a release valve cuz we were scared if we released too much it would be useless.. and so we just did a little at a time.

but since you are my only vendor i use for my yaris, u will be expecting an order from me sometime after april. i just gotta hold all funds til after my vacation.

Got mine installed this past weekend. The space to mount the lower bracket is pretty tight so do yourself a favor and get a socket swivel attachment and extension if you plan on installing. Made the job much easier as there is very little room to move a box/open end wrench around in there.

It's not a difficult install, just made tedious by the lack of room. I even considered taking off the fender at one point.

I didn't use the lock washers that came with the kit as they just made the bracket move too much while tightening it down.

The hinge mounts also interfere with the lower bracket a little bit, but I found that if you slide the bracket all the way towards the fender while installing that you can get the bracket on the opposite side of the offending mount so as not to interfere with it. Doesn't leave any wiggle room, but at this position it still allows the lifts to line up well.

Lastly, both lifts provided in the kit are needed as the hood is too heavy to be supported by one.

Here's a pic of how I installed the lower bracket. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture but it is actually to the left of the hinge bracket. If you don't put it behind it, the bracket will mount at an angle and I found it harder to adjust for the right alignment when it was in that position.

If you look at the lower part of the lift cylinder you'll see a scratch on it that I got when the bracket was installed at an angle and I was trying to adjust it while closing the hood for a test. It got scratched on that piece of fender with the oblong hole in it on the lower left.

With the bracket installed as far left as you can get it, it sits square and lines up without needing to tweak it.

How do you close the hood? Same as the trunk?

Do you have to slam it or does it fall with gravity? Is there resistence when closing the hood?

You close it like you do the rear hatch. Yes there is resistance when closing it so you can't really slam it. Just push it down until it hooks the latch then shove it into the locked position.

I stays up quite well on its own. And I imagine it would fully open by itself if it weren't for the safety catch on the hood latch.
