A Hankook RS3 question...

So as I continue to auto-x my Yaris i've found the Yokohama S-Types to be decent but i'm looking for a more performance suitable tire. My local auto-x club is pretty enthralled with the Hankook RS3 and I think i've fallen in love driving other members cars equipped with the tire.

So the big question comes down to fitment! I've made the measurements and I think it might fit but i'd appreciate any comment from someone who has fit a 225/45/15 tire on a Yaris with Tokico Blue shocks and MicroImage/Tigertec Springs or knows if such a tire fitment will actually work!

Also acceptable are any other tire recommendations for a +10,000 mile Auto-X/Street Use tire!

Well it's decided, i'm going to order the RS-3s. Guess i'll do it for science!

Data-
Wheels: 15x7 with a +42 offset
Tires: Hankook RS-3 225-45-15
No spacers rear or front, Tigertec Springs, Tokico Blues

I'll be crossing my fingers and just hope there is no/limited rubbing!

I'm running 225/45/15 Hankook RS2's up front and RS3's in the rear on my Echo on 15x7 +35 rims, and FWIW, I get minimal rubbing at stock height. That will get worse once I drop the car on Megan sprigns (around 1.5" front and 1.25" rear drop).

All I need is to roll the fenders a bit.
It's definitely doable :)

Yeah i'm certainly curious about what kind of rubbing I might see. Funny thing is even lowered i'm not concerned about the height of the tire, just how close it is going to get to the strut tower at max turn! Will let you all know how the install goes on Friday!

225, u will need to roll the fenders esp up front, maybe a bit in the rear on a lowered car. i run 225/50/15 khumo V700 on 15x7 rim +40 offset.. i cut my fender liner and rolled the top part of my fenders in the front.. havent done any in the rear but they rub slightly.. not sure if 45 will make a huge difference

Yeah we'll see. The new tires will technically be shorter then the 205/50/15 S-Drives I have on now, just wider. The suspension is pretty stiff so maybe I won't destroy my wheel liner on speed bumps!

with a +42 and 45 with -2, i think you will be ok. i do think you will rub if you turn the wheel all the way. but who really does that?

Quick little update- Got the tires installed today and there was practically no rubbing. These RS-3s have gobs of grip on them and I can't wait till Sunday to really try them out at the track!

YES, beautiful.. looks great.. thats my next set of tires right there.. thanks for the pics. i was curious what 225/45/15 looked like on 7x15 rims

Yeah i'm very happy that it worked out, I was super nervous when we test fit the first tire but luckily it cleared! I can't wait to see how it grips tomorrow at the track!

Also it should be noted that while I installed the Tokico Blues + Microimage springs I did NOT cut the bump stops, that may have bought me a little room.

And the results are in, these RS3s kick butt! They ran great the entire time and only got a little greasy on the very last run. Must not have been driving aggressive enough because I didn't even nudge one cone.
