stretch tires on my aftermarket wheels

Hey guys,
I just put on my new wheels with stretch tires. The problem is that there is a slow leak on one of the wheels. I don't think the stretch would cause this problem. The tires on there are the stock tires(185/50) on a 8 inch wide wheel. I mean the other wheels/tires are showing no loss of air. The wheels are brand new. And the tires had no leaks prior to putting on the tires to the new wheels. Any ideas? If the tires are the problem, anyone have an idea on what tire would be best for a stretch?

Make sure the place that mounted the tires mounted it right. Otherwise, there's probably some damage somewhere on the tire.

Falken tires, especially the 512's are known for awesome stretching.

check valve stem seals also.. what type are you using? are you using the TPWS?

Koo thanks guys. And as far as the valve stems im using what the tire shop gave. They look the same as stock.

most likely a leak on the bead,pretty common on stretched tires.depending on how far you stretched the harder it is to keep the smal leaks away,have them recheck the seal on the edge in the water bath.

to the water tube check like bzinn suggested.. if anything, take the wheel off and do it yourself first. then dry it off and mark where you found it.. then take it to the shop and tell them.. hey.. FIX THIS! lol.. but in a nicer way

sometimes if you don't clean the bead of the tire off before mounting them, a little piece of dirt or rust get imbedded in the rubber from the previous rim. I always wire brush the bead off if I'm switching tire from one set of rims to the other.

Yep. Dismount tire and clean where the bead seals.

I agree.
This is often overlooked and can be a problem with any tire.
Also, many tire dealers/installers will apply a bit of soapy water to the tire/rim bead area to insure proper seating and sealing.
