A few weeks ago I took off the Toyota and Yaris badges off the back of my car. I want to put the Yaris one back on, not the Toyota. Is there anywhere I can buy that goo that they use in the factories to put them on? I don't want to go back to the dealer and be like "here, put this back on for me cause I'm an idiot.." lol
Help me out guys. Thanks. :iono:

See if you can find a sheet of double sided foam adhesive. Clean your Yaris emblem and stick it to the foam sheet. Use an razor to cut out the extra foam. I would use a grease pencil to mark where you want it and maybe scotch tape it and step back to make sure you know where you want it. Clean the area with isopropyl alchohol before sticking it on.
This is what I would do.
There is nothing worse than a decal that is not straight or positioned correctly. It has the potential to look quite ghetto.

any auto store should have 3m "foam" tape; the thinner the better

go to walmart and buy the 3M double side tape, they work really good, make sure u get the thin one, and aloso you have to cut the shape of the badge, good luck:cool:

Most auto parts places sell 3M auto trim adhesive - not the tape.

Thanks so much guys.
I live within a mile of an Auto Zone and PepBoys. Which ones do you guys recommend? The Auto Zone just opened up about 2 months ago.

I don't like Pep Boys, but I think they have more "tuner" stock (AKA: ricer stuff)...

If you want it to look like original, you may just want to buy another new badge from the Toyota dealer. When you buy it from the dealer, it comes with the stock sticky stuff (just a little different than the double sided tape) and it usually includes a template that helps you line it up perfect.

I'm gonna call Toyota today and just order a new Yaris emblem. That should only take about 3 weeks for them to get it in :( I really need to start thinking things through before I start ripping things off my car!

3M pannel tape, super thin.. like construction paper thin. find some adhesion promoter, and this thing will be back on stronger then new!
I may still have some left over from when i reinstalled my emblems after painting them.

Awesome. What part of Jersey? I live near Mercer/Burlington Counties.. I'd really appreciate if you could hook me up with some! I'd pay you for it.
Let me know, thanks.

I called my Toyota dealer, they told me it would be $32.95 for a new Yaris emblem (with adhesive inc. obviously), and I said forget that. So I asked him how much for just to put my original badge back on for me, and if they could give me a new adhesive and line it up nice, and they said that would cost $28.95. I was like whawhawhat? No. Nonono.
But the guy was cool. He told me (like the rest of you) to go over to Wal-Mart or any other store and buy some 3M Doublesided tape..
Couldn't find any at Wal-Mart quite possibly cause the town is pretty ghetto, so I got some 3M Molding Tape. Looks like the stuff the factories use? But anyway, PAIN IN THE ASS TO CUT TO SIZE.. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Take my word.. Don't debadge unless you really, really think it through..
I put it on and voila, looks fantastic and better than before ;) Girls can do anything boys can do!
Cheers,

Glad it worked out for ya...
Yes trimming it just perfect is a PITA, but try having to trim around the front and rear Toyota round emblem after painting..
Better to take your time, then rush and have it look like shit.

Very true.. mine turned out really good. I just didn't know if the emblem had a slight tilt to it.. but I made it straight.. looks good. I bought this today on eBay. I can't wait to put it on!

I have a 2010 Barcelona Red Sedan, and am wanting to paint my emblems black. Will the double sided tape not show behind the emblem? Also, how do you get the chrome trim off the trunk?

lol you should start your own thread, this one is four years old.
You would cut the tape or adhesive so it does not show through.
i am pretty sure the chrome trim has a screw in it, although i might be wrong.
