Hey guys,

My AC knob that toggles between fresh air and recirculate is stuck (on fresh air.)

I called the dealership and they quoted me 100$ for labor and 60$ for parts to get it fixed.

Is this something I can easily fix myself (how elaborate of a fix would this be if so?) or should I pay the 160$ to have it done?

What do you guys think?

how many miles are on the car and when was the purchase date? That may still be covered by the 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.

31,000 miles and I bought it used but I'm pretty sure it'll be 3 years in May (original purchase)

It might be as simple as something stuck in the mechanism that flips up and down to switch between the two settings. If you pop the passenger glove box its the flapper just above the cabin air filter slot. Gently try to move it while rotating the knob.

So it should still be covered under warranty at no charge, because you are still within the time frame of 36 months and less than 36,000 miles. Let us know how you make out.

I'll try this tomorrow morning. If no luck, I'll see if the dealer will cover it under warranty.
