Hi, i just recently bought four new after market speakers to replace my current factory speakers. I also want to hook these speakers up to my new 4 channel amplifier, i also bought a new head unit as well. If i want to hook up these 4 speakers to my amplifier, does it matter whether or not i connect the speaker wiring on the head unit wiring harness, to the old existing factory speaker wiring. Also how many pairs of RCA cables will I need? right now I have two. Thank you.

If your running a 4 channel amp and its powering four speakers youll need two set of RCA cables. Depending how much power would depend on speaker wire. Personally, I would run new, better grade wire to the speakers. I got a hella deal on MonsterCable off ebay. 100 ft 16 guage sheilded for like 14 bucks shipped. good for 100 watts.

Do i still have to connect the factory speaker wiring to the head unit? or can i just let it dangle?

If your going to run new wiring then you run the RCA cables from your new head unit to the amp. The new speaker wires go from the amp to the speakers.
so to answer your question, the speaker wires in the harness adapter ( assuming you have an adapter going from factory harness to new head unit) will not need to be hooked up. Is this a Sedan or regular Yaris? I know the sedan has an antenna amplifier and has to be Y-d in with the blue lead output to the amp ( power on lead from head unit to amp)

^ aka.

The factory harness would still need to be hooked up to the head unit (For power and other purposes) but thats it. everything else could/would run to the amp.

and then the amp would run RCA's back to the head unit for the sound.

can't go wrong with the packages from http://www.knukonceptz.com/. Seriously I LOVE my KnuKonceptz wiring...really high grade stuff.
