View Full Version : Removing Rear Seat

I was poking around the hatch today and saw two fasteners for the rear seat back there. They appear to be male torx head screws? They would need a female torx socket to remove? (or a visegrip) Is that right? Also I saw on the front part of the rear seat two 14mm (?) bolts that look to hold the front part of the rear seat in place.

Would removing these four fasteners let you remove the rear seat? Are there more that have to be removed to get that seat out? I am assuming removing the rear seat would let you get more stuff in there. Is that so in fact? Or am I mistaken? I am thinking of taking a road trip to Alaska this summer and need increased cargo space.

Thanks!

The Torx sockets can be gotten at Sears....they are like $14 for a complete set.

Using anything else will end up very quickly with stripped bolts and purchase of a stripped boltout kit....pain in the butt.

Rear seat is really easy to take out,a helper is not a must but sure makes it a lot easier and quicker....lol
