AOE Tigertec springs - SOLD

TRD rear sway bar -SOLD

(2) Steel wheels with tires - SOLD

(4) Hubcaps for 2008 Yaris - SOLD

Scion Pioneer T1808 head unit - $70 - lights up amber similar to the 09+ style Yaris. I will also include the iPod direct cable to connect your iPod or iPhone to the HU.
It gives you direct iPod control over the HU. If you have an iPhone like I did, all the other apps will work and sound will come out through the stereo (For example, I have a Magellan app for GPS that worked through the stereo while the HU controlled the iPod music). It also comes with the owners manual, so you know how to control the iPod/iPhone. It also has subwoofer outputs to the Scion factory Bazooka sub (not included).

eBay header - SOLD - Comes with both gaskets. I bought this over a year ago from another member and never actually installed it. It's not a show piece, but it's functional for sure.

MI Skull in flat black - SOLD - bought the unfinished one from Garm as soon as they came out. Looks great in flat
black especially on a white car.

Cruise control parts - SOLD the CC parts, still have the clutch switch ($10) - Bought the clutch switch from local Toyota dealer for $30. All parts new and unused.

Auxilary Input and iPod controller for factory HU - $15 - This one is the economy option for HU without an aux port (gives you a 3.5mm jack) as well as a 30 pin iPod connector. It pretty much just plays the music and simulates a CD changer to the HU. I used it for a few months until getting the Scion HU.

Stock shift boot - $10 - because you need a rubbery one.

Shorty antenna - SOLD-

Ground kit and voltage stabilizer - $20 - Some people may say either one or both of these are a waste; however, I saw that it smoothed out my idle and brought the voltage up slightly (as read by my Ultra-gauge). I don't have enough data to say that it helped fuel economy because I didn't have the ultra-gauge when I added these two and I removed other parts at the same time as these.

I can take more photos of things in more detail if you'd like. PM's and replies to the thread work for me.

Probably about $15-20.

Do you know if the hitch will also fit a sedan?

From Draw-Tite's website, it shows the same part number for the LB and the sedan, so it should. I have not actually tried it though.

Here are a couple more pics. Are you looking for the radio powered in daylight as installed? The last one is the closest I have to that.

Does it have ASL ?

dean_park
04-12-2011, 03:31 PM
ASL? Age: 33, Sex: Male, Location: Missouri?
I'm not sure what ASL you may be referring to though. It has SSP, which is Scion Sound Processing (equalizer modes).

oops...
No, I do not think it does. From the manual and setup, I've never seen that. Usually there would be an option to turn this on/off or set a level 1, 2, 3...
I also don't see a place for a speed sensor wire (would have to be available on the harness).

Well, I stand corrected. It's in the manual and it does have ASL (Automatic Sound Levelizer). I honestly never played with it (I totally would have if I read the manual). It has adjustments for Off->low->mid->high. It says it monitors varying noise and automatically increases the volume level. By that statement, I would assume that it's doing it without using a speed sensor signal.

Got a pic from the manual showing how to set the ASL feature?
I have this stereo in my '08 hatch and I love it!

I tried to take a pic and it really didn't come out readable. It's in the audio cont section (where bass, treble, etc are listed). As mentioned, I've never seen it. It also has SRT, which helps the sample rate for MP3 files in the same menu. If you press it with an MP3 CD in, you can adjust that.

Here's a link to the manual
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/8394769/Scion-Audio-System---Toyota-part-no-PT546-00080---Owners-manual-for-AMFMCD-Player-with-iPod-control
It mentions it on page 1 and then says it's only active when the vehicle is moving, so maybe it does require a speed sensor. The manual is pretty vague since it's more as an owners manual for a Scion rather than written for someone who wants to add it to another vehicle. From searching though, people have put this in Corolla, Tacoma, 4 Runner... It's pretty widely used across the Other Toyota forums.

I'd imagine shipping to Ontario, Canada for that trailer hitch would be insane, but worth a check?? Postal code N0E 1R0

Is towing a single axle trailer for mulch and topsoil, etc.. really doable on the Yaris? Anyone here ever tow small loads with it?

Best guesstimate is about $31 USD. I can't find anything about duties though, so I don't know how we'd that that in. I know I've had a hard time getting parts in Canada that I've sent from my company to my customers (for me while at their location). I'm not sure if it would be the same for smaller lower value items from person to person.

I know there are a few people on the forum who do tow a little with their Yaris with utility trailers, like yard debris and dirt that have posted on the forum. I remember reading a thread of a guy in New Hampshire that did, but I can't find it at the moment. The tongue weight on the hitch is 200lb and the tow weight is 2000lbs, but that's just the hitch. I do not know the capacity of the Yaris. There is obviously a limit with engine load, braking capacity, etc, but occasionally towing a small trailer and probably a jet ski would be no worse than driving with four 300lb guys except that the load isn't on your suspension.

Let's see if this helps. I'm using this same Drawtite hitch receiver with a Drawtite ball mount # 3593 (2-1/8" rise) pulling this trailer (total ~500lbs counting the trailer weight and patio door):

Looks good. Not too much squat in the rear (if any). You must have balanced the load pretty evenly.

It's deceiving. The 1000 lbs trailer capacity weight includes the weight of the trailer too, so that's a couple hundred pounds. Then there's all that wood scaffolding keeping the door upright. The door/frame is probably a couple hundred pounds.

So I take that back, it's probably a total of ~400 lbs, not 500 as originally estimated.

Hope the info helps you with the sale.
