You can always paint it if all else fails. The newer made for plastic spray paints hold up very well and require almost no prep(unless it's scratched and you want it smooth again). The finishes are surpisingly durable, I've used them all over the place(even the kitchen, where they get scrubbed) and the finish is as good as new.

I refinished my dash back to new. It had some light scratches so I used a primer and then paint to help fill them in. It's back to showroom condition, you'd never guess it was painted.

All in all it costs about 8 dollars and a couple hours...if you're on a budget(like me). :)

What brand paint did you use? I used "for plastic" from walmart, and it was very difficult to make it stick to the glossy plastic surface. Had to sand it.

I've always used the Rustoleum brand they sell at home depot, I've probably gone through 7 or 8 cans of it by now. For my dash I used the Rustoleum "plastic primer" #209460 and Rustoleum "metallic matte nickel" #7277830. Prep consisted of a good wash down with 90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. A very light coating of the primer is best, it doesn't need to cover it like a top coat. I let it dry in between stages under my overhead shop heater.

Out of all their plastic paints, the "textured" ones seem to be the strongest. That's what I used to change the color of some appliances in the kitchen and its held up without a scratch for about 1.5 years now.
