Nice welds. I would keep an eye on the bumper, that tips looks a little too close.

thanks...its what i do for a living...i figure i finally have a nice car, so picked a nice little muffler for it that you don't see often

it looks close, but the rolled edge is actually right where the bumper rolls up...so the closest it gets is just over 5/16" of an inch (my closest gap rule of thumb) right in the middle of the length of the tip
by the way...in the pictures the exhaust is barely a day old...i LOVE the colors an SS exhaust turns into when its sized properly

any sound clips? how much did the materials cost ?
malibuguy

sound clip is posted after the last picture
on the street this would cost you about $550

Looks and sounds very good! Any better performance?
How about a clip of it taking off down the street?
Why 2 resonators?
I have a stainless muffler that I found at the side of the road that I want to make into a axleback. What kind of connecter is that called over the axle? Do they carry them at the parts store?

oh didnt see the link...is the cabin noise loud?

Best sounding NA 1NZ imo.
Oh, I don't think you'll have to worry about the tip being too close to the bumper. Look how close mine is, and I've had it like this for quite some time now.

thanks guys.
this is my daily driver so i did not want it too loud, so thats why i went with 2 resonators...also with my main "muffler" being kinda of small. I drive 500plus miles a week...tho i seem to be racking up more...i've only had the car for about 45-50 days & already have 5600miles on it.
it does have mild drone, but its not too bad...its really only when under load at too low of an rpm...like 5th gear at 30mph up a hill type shit. cruising down the highway it just barely noticeable over the tires (which are at 50psi so they scream a little)
all in all i'm very happy with it & i hope to pick up some gas mileage mainly from the race cat...if it drops...i'll probably sell the exhaust & go back to stock & throw a tip on it or something

What size pipe did you use, 2"? Let us know if the millage changes due to the new system.

sounds really good! Ive always been so-so on most Yaris exhaust, but your's is the exception. Our Yaris is the wife's car, so no exhaust for it unfortunately.....just gotta save up for MY exhaust lol

Would the shop that did that Yaris be willing to take on a hatchback? I'd love to have a Megan header and race cat with high-flow exhaust, and that's really some quality work!

yes i can handle your hatchback no problem

Looks good, I like the sound too!
Ever think of getting a longer first resonator/muffler? That might help break up some of the droning...

my original plan was to use a HushPower in the middle, but i have a million other things that need money first, so i used what i had...the 2 borlas used to be in a rear section that i had for my scion...i had 3 different rear sections to go with a custom front section

the exhaust isn't really that loud, so i'm not going to bother with it for a while

That's a different setup than you have in the video... any vids of that?
I was thinking of doing something very similar in my Echo.
Also, do you have any relatively inexpensive sources for 1.75" v-band flange kits?

Can we hear that plz?

that was one my scion
i was showing where my resonators came from...& actually they originally came off a 2 week old Borla exhaust for a 350z
i tend to keep stuff thats in good shape (which i why i have 38 mufflers in my shed & 4 next to my toolbox)

You'd start loosing power with an unmodified motor. And by unmodified I mean serious power adders.

2" is a perfect match for these motors to develop a good peak velocity that broadens the torque range
i could by looking @ the pics of how the heat is dispersed, drop down to 1.75" after the first resonator & probably see no difference in power output

if i take the stock axle back (for sedan) and cut the last res box out and just weld a pipe where it used to be will it open up the sound a little ? i think i saw some one on here did that is it possible ?

Well thanks for the heads up man. I got a friend down in Towson near Baltimore with an 86 rolla, when I got the spare change I'll bring down a header and muffler and let you set up a sweet low-restriction 2" exhaust with racing cat, ok? :)
No resonators for me. I like it LOUD. :D

hey is this on a sedan i want to get a dual tip is this welded on cause the end of the oem is angled down so i feel like a dual would only work if it came out straight

i'm probably going to take off the exhaust & sell it...i only got 49.81 mpg on the last tank...& it should of been a 50-52mpg tank

Yes, this is on my sedan. If you want to do a center exit tip like mine, you'll need to cut off the rear jack point. Just a heads up.

How are you averaging 50-52 mpg? I'm only averaging 42 mpg???

i drive a certain way & take a certain route to work to allow me pretty much coast almost the first half of my trip to work ( i have a 45mile commute one way)
so for like the first 15miles i'm on back roads coasting as much as i can & of course keeping speeds down
http://ecomodder.com/forum/fe-graphs/graph4687.gif
my current tank is probably going to be low to mid 40s, i've been driving fast & using a/c...since i'm in the middle of some body work on my tercel...i have to take out my speed aggressions on the yaris, lol

I like how you chose to use a smaller diameter tip. Nice and stealthy
