DIY fog lights question!

okay so i followed this DIY for my 08 hatch

and i think i did everything correctly because the foglights are able to turn on and switch is working fine, although when i turn my headlights on with my fog lights, my fogs turn off. then when i turn my headlights off my fogs are able to turn on. so i cant turn both on at the same time.

has anyone else had this problem or know what i need to do to fix?

please help.

The switch on the aftermarket fogs is really not designed to be used with the OEM fog light wiring. The manufacturer of yours may have changed the internals of the switch, making it yet more incompatible.

Try disconnecting the switch wiring and just jump pins 3 and 4 on the headlight stalk connector. With them jumped the fogs will turn on with the headlights if the under hood wiring is correct and the fog light relay is the correct one.

Yes - With 3 and 4 jumped together they will.

That is just with the low beams I believe.

Correct - Jumped that way they will turn on with lows and back off with highs.
