OUCH......I would be pissed off ~ Ummm.....try the dealer ~ See how much they will buff it up for ~ If not then ask around car paint shops and they could help you ~

I don't know how much though or where.....I live in Brisbane ~ SOrry can't help much in this area ~

Are you serious? Just for a buffer? or a FULL paint job?

Damn that's expensive......I remember asking for a paint job for 1 door of my old Civic and that was only $160.....but $1600!!!! You might as well paint job the whole car ~

Even if you have a scratch.......maybe something deep or long...they need to strip the paint off the WHOLE area maybe such as the door and repaint the whole thing...thats why it costs so much...

ASHRAF

$160 for a paint job fairly cheap

I Just want to fix the scratches for now

so what do u recommend

if I'm spending $1600 ... than I'll be more and go for a whole new custom paint job

anyone in Perth can help???

Touch up paint? if its a minor scatch?

Painting a whole car can cost 4000 - 10 000 dollars. Though its not worth that much....thats retail price btw...

Hey sorry to hear about the car...

I had the same issue last year some f**k wit did the same thing happened to you to my car...

I just left it as it is though...

All I can think of is that try any car detailing place you can find and see if they can 'blend' in the scratch... since your car is relative new they might be able to do it at near perfection...

Otherwise there is DYI... get some putty and fill in the scratch then get a spray can & musk the other area off and spray some layers to it & clear coat the top bits and bluff it out... its a very long and shite job but will cost next to nothing if you have the skills & patience

The last method would be claim from your insurance... or pray someone hit ur car on the damaged side and get the whole panel replaced...

For me... I already got a spray can color matched by Autobarn and clear coat and just waiting for a good time to do it... starting with the bumper on the rear...

Again I will curse that f***k wit who did that to your car...

Cheers

If the scratch did not reach the primer layer... which is the white paint underneth the black metallic coating you can get a touch up pen and touch it up and buff it out yourself slowly...

ASHRAF

it will cost around $2000
but I'm doing it through insurance, that's why I'm looking for the best job

The basic claim excess is $250

But they may charge me up to $1250, not sure yet because of my age, and the international licence issue

I'm assuming that the scratch is deep where you can't buff the scratch out? My mothers 4Runner had a deep scratch mark (Dad made drying car after dropping the towel on the ground -_-) and after apply scratch remover about 5 times, it was less visible. It was not completely gone but only visible at certain angles with direct sunlight.

If the scratch is deep to the white well guess going to professional paint shop is the way to go.

Sorry to hear that this s#!+ happened to you and your car =(

I would like to know on the insurance assessment process...

I got a bad deep scratch just like ASHRAF but it was back in 2006, I have since tried to touch up the scratch with touch up paint and polish it back etc...

Will the insurance assessor allow that or will I have to scratch my car somewhere else to claim for the repainting?

damn.those are disgusting person i suppose.yucks

ohwell now i guess i shall not meet them then.ha

i do see quite a few 3 dr yrs and yrx in uni (ANU)
most of the drivers are asian looking international GUY students
was happy cos i can prove to my friend yaris isn't a lady's car !!

Speedz
07-31-2007, 08:31 PM
I see what you mean, but the fact is that in Oz land the perception of a manly bloke is to drive at least a V6 and must be either a 'Dore or a Falcon...

Anything else less would consider a wuss... I do see a lot of Asian driving Yaris too... BUT haha most of them a ladies... at least they are good looking gals... like Jaspie... LOL

In regards to Ozecho, only a couple of people acted like that mainly the guy who owns the website and sold his Echo for a Lancer... dont think he actively participate in the forum nowadays as well as his close associates who has been in the forum since the early days...

Cheers

i do reckon that a manly bloke should be at least a V6 but i guess a ute would be more cool !! i still like yaris.i would rather trade the V6 for fuel economy at the present stage since im not earning anything .. the international student uni tution fee is 4 times that of a local.do u think i got spare cash for a v6 ? damn.i hate this.

2nd hand V6 hmmm......... skyline or a supra

Anyway i just did a 700km last week including a trip 5 hour sunday trip... the Yaris only used 6.9L/100km the whole time that includes several 20% gradient climbs, CBD traffic, and speeding along the highway...

SO yeah very happy about the consumption...!

firez3r0
