1 to 10..pickup, drop off..cleaning, parking lot..
11+ sum1 test drove it..
I got mine at 55 because...well..they drove it from a dealer that's approx 40 to 50 miles away the day before I ordered it..

The thing is that we do not know how fast the dealer's guys drove our car...

Fifty something, it was driven from the dock to the dealer and it is the right distance

40 miles.

The dealer has several locations in the area and the window sticker said the car was shipped to another location so it makes sense that they had to drive it over, plus it probably had a few test drives on it.

Mine had 10 km (approx. 6 miles) on the odometer at the time of delivery. My home and the Toyota dealership are near the port where cars are unloaded from ships.

12 kms on ours when we got it. The car's odo when you buy it shows:

- test drive kms at the factory
- car driven from the factory to the dock (or at least to a car carrier if the dock is far from the factory)
- car driven from the dock to the dealer (some dealers use car carriers)

6 miles on ours when I gave it a test drive of another 6 miles before signing the papers - so papers to DMV showed 12 miles.

You're being anal over a few digits on an odometer. The easiest way to move a car around once its been built is to drive it. If you are buying a Ferrari you maybe have a case to demand a zero mileage car.

You're buying an econobox.

100 miles on the clock on a car that is going to be driven probably over 100,000 in its lifetime is really a poofteenth. Delivery guys aren't going to baby your car, warm it up, keep it below 3000rpm, they're going to make each trip as quickly as possible.

Get over it, you'll live easier.

well my point is , is if i need a sunroof option, cruise control, lowering the car. do they drive the car on different location...my main concern is if the driver pushed the car then its not really new any more.. if i was the one droppin this off on these shop i may do the same thing...i really dont want to pay for a brand new car that was used specially me ordering a manual...but thanks for the response guys..

well i had a chance to go to TMMC (toyota motor manufacturing Canada) for a tour, just remember the last step they do is to redline the car on a machine similar to dyno rollers, which test the drivability of the car and how all the drive line parts works................................. don't think u will ever get a drive a car first hand unless u get that test drive job lmfao

Mine had 8,and the man. does do a redline on the car, plus if you read the motoman report on here some where,it says it actually better to be hard on the engine the first 300 miles, there is a procedure, what Im saying is that he might have actually did you a favor.Heres a link,

At our dealership, when a new vehicle comes off the trailer, we do what's called a PDI(Pre-Delivery-Inspection).
We make sure everything works, all fluid levels are correct, nothings leaking, and then we road test the car, take it on the freeway, try out the cruise control, etc.
That way when you pick up your car, nothing's wrong with it, i.e. warning lamps, oil leaks, damage from transport, etc.
It's the manufacturer's last step for quality control.

Mine had about 20km, if I recall properly. I really don't mind, I'd prefer Toyota test drive it first to find any problems rather then the proiblems happening to me on the first day I get the car

Mine was driven to the leather installer and back before I got it so it had maybe 70 miles on it. I still considered it new.

mine had 50+ miles on it. I'm guessing someone wanted to go on a joy ride before I got it. Mine was one of the first in the usa so I'm guessing someone really wanted to see what the car was like.

I'm not complaining. CAr is great. I thought it funny that the toyota people that sold me it were trying to say they were sorry it had the 50+ miles on it. I've got 6,000 on it now and I love the little car even more now.

If a car is the next-gen version or seemingly fun, you can expect more miles than usual.

When the latest RAV4's came out, everyone liked dogging the V6 models since they had a very 'musclecar' like feeling to them. I romped on one in the rain one day, I got semi-sideways then the VSC lights came on and everything was back to normal. I swear it seems like those things are the fastest thing on the lot! I also gave every SMG MR-S a longer than usual roadtest. There's a countryside 2 laner not far from the dealership.
