Woops, here are the photos sorry guys. I really need help dammit.

Was thinking of just going to an auto shop and having them make some sort of metal plate to cover the front lip or something.

How to Use Bondo Body Filler

Bondo is the most popular method of repairing a damaged body panel. It is an inexpensive alternative to having the panel professionally repaired and is easy to use. Bondo consists of two chemicals: the filler and the hardener. The materials are mixed together and then applied to the surface. Once dry, the material can be sanded to the desired shape and, if desired, painted.

1
Sand all paint off of the damaged area with sandpaper.

2
Wipe the damaged area down with a tack rag to remove any sanding deposits, which can prevent the Bondo from properly adhering to the surface.

3
Mix the Bondo filler with the Bondo hardener, using the plastic putty knife supplied with the Bondo kit. The filler is the gray material in the can, while the hardener is the red material in the tube. Use 1/4 tube of hardener for every 1/4 can of filler. Mix the materials together until they turn a uniform salmon color.

4
Apply the mixed Bondo material to the damaged area with the plastic putty knife. Swipe the material from one side of the damaged area to the other side of the area in a single motion while pressing the material into the area. Pressing the Bondo into the surface will ensure that the material fills small irregularities.

5
Allow 10 to 15 minutes to pass for the Bondo to dry.

6
Sand the Bondo down with sandpaper until it conforms to the body panel.

Yes it's ok to do in the day, don't worry you'll be fine. Just take your time do not rush it. YouTube will help you see how it works..

Good Luck !

You can Buy bondo at any auto shop, the price is from $15-$30.
If you take it to a shop it shoulden't be more the $300. I had a bad crack on my car too. took it to a shop to get it fix I paid $170.

Will have to see what an auto shop quotes it

Bondo will not work on cracked plastic. Bondo is used for filling in dents.

Think some places advertise plastic repairs.. another option might be fiberglass...

Visit a body shop and ask if they can repair it.

Looks like you are so low, this won't be the last time...

I used fiberglass resin jelly to fill in my bumper once. it took a really long time but it looked nice and it was the first time (technically second) I ever played with the stuff.

at the very end, I used bondo just to smoothe it out. the area I covered was tons bigger than yours. I think you can do it in a day. just make sure to get the resin jelly (it is like grout and doesn't really drip) order it online if you can't find it locally. you won't need much at all. make sure to also have some paint. duplicolor seems to work well (also available online).

you can do this. save some money (you'll need it for the NOX setup ;))

Is the bumper mounted on the car in that pic?

Aslong as it gets fixed to look normal I am fine. Also I was rollin on 14's at the time when it happened, winter had ended but snow turned to ice since it was inside a pot hole - thought it was snow in the middle of the road plowed it and the rest is history I still have the plastic piece thats missing that actually broke off. Now it is on 15 inch wheels, and in this photo my bumper is actually clearing a sidewalk so it has a good 6 inches will be dropping maybe an inch to make it an equal five (atm its stock height)

Nice to see you are following and supporting my NOS idea! Well I know we have dupli color here, but I am scared shitless to do anything to my car myself and by the sounds of it so far if it costs 150ish dollars to fix, I won't be spending much less getting all the supplies for this self repair so I may aswell have a shop do it.

Refer to my first quote sir.

my bumper project cost me aroun $75 including the spare bumper. you really should be able to take care of it yourself.

-sandpaper (a few different grits)
-fiberglass resin jelly (don't even need the fiber)
-paint (maybe primer, maybe not)

if you do want it to be perfect, get a shop to do it. if you are alright with saving a little green and it looking alrightish, do it yourself. you should be fine. realize that you need the smallest container of the stuff since you are just sticking stuff together.

there again, if you want it perfect, the shop works.

You can try to melt the plastic back together first and use a light amount of bodyfiller.

The bondo wont hold it all together. (Yes I'm being lazy and not reading the whole thing) You should probably put some sort of support on the back side of the lip area. The bondo wont hold it rigid enough to keep it from flexing and eventually cracking the bondo. Put some fiberglass or get a can of kitty hair and place it on the back side of the lip to get the shape and support back in it. Then strip the paint in the area, then you can bondo body fill the SMALL gaps left. Sand, prep, sand, paint, sand, clear, buff that area and you should be good. Or take it to a bodyshop and have them fix it and blend it for a few hundred bucks.

I've decided to go with a fibreglass repair kit from homehardware,

My plan is to use this and pile it up abit under the lip where it is un visible. Solid it up then masking tape with newspaper off the area sand it down and fill the cracks a little bit then sand that bastard down, prime, paint, clearcoat, soak it, wash on wax it and call it a day.

Sounds about right no?

Dont wax it right away. The paint has to cure and release some of the moisture. If you wax too quickly it could cause issues in the paint finish

the only thing is that fiberglass resin is runny like water or very thin sap. I tried using regular fiberglass with my project and couldn't get it to conform long enough to cure.

you may want to look into the resin jelly.

it is much easier to work with and comes with all the stuff you are talking about doing. you just have to wait for it to ship versus going and getting it.

Or http://www.amazon.com/Kitty-Hair-Filler-QT-Reinforced/dp/B000Q8ICHY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305050999&sr=1-1-catcorr

The Kitty Hair I stated before. You just pull it out, put some hardner in it and go to work. Take some hot glue and dowls to get the bumper in the shape you want. do the kitty hair on the backside of the lip where no one will se eit and you can pack it in there enough to give it good support. You can also use kitty hair on the cracks if there are any and sand it down.
