Alright so I bought some vht-night shades (tinting my real tail lights)

So I have

Sand Paper
Masking Tape
Tail tinting spray
Clear spray paint (for after the tint)

Now the thing is I need something to keep the paint off the body so I bought gift wrapping tissue paper, but I fear the paint will go through it so I needed something else to seal off I was gonna get poster paper but it is way too thick and not flexible for shaping around.

Any tips are appreciated or some sort of paper/material to use as a cover.

Um, why don't you just take the lights off?

Dude you are telling me you don't know how to remove ur tailights?
There is nothing you can fuck up
Oh and you won't need sand paper for the tails if what ur using is night shade

Tried there is a white tri-pin that no idea if I push out or in.

Then there are two more pins lower white and black with rubber on them or something but I did not touch those.

You can go to any office supply store and buy brown paper on a roll that is used for wrapping packages.

There are two or three 10mm(IIRC) bolts on the backside(inside the hatch) of the taillights. Open the lamp access cover, remove the bolts, then push/pull the lights out.

The VHT requires little prep, rub the entire light down with rubbing alcohol, then go to work. One thing to remember is it's really difficult to remove the VHT once you put it on, even after a only a few seconds...if you screw up get it off IMMEDIATELY, but it still won't look good as new. Also, it gets dark real fast if you go more than one coat. I planned on doing a very light smoke, one came out perfect, the other had a spot of grease or something on it so I had to clean it off and start over...long story short I had to do more than one coat and now I have super black tailghts(which I'm fine with) but it wasn't my ultimate goal.

It is done there is a VERY minor MINOR tape spray that somehow got through but it is really unnoticeable. The lights themselves came out decently did my friends aswell didn't even take them off looks beatiful,

All you need is some ol' fashioned newspaper to mask off areas.
