Here is my hitch setup with my '10 Stumpjumper Comp 29.

Please post photos of your car hauling stuff - I love seeing the practicality of these cars!

Too many other 'hauling' and/or 'towing' threads already exist.

Those are all dead and mostly photo-free.

What the hell, I'll feed the thread.

How did it work pulling that small trailer? What kind of FE did you get with it? I ask because I'm thinking about getting a 4x8 aluminum one to haul firewood and stuff to the cabin.

Hauls fine. It is only a 4x5' aluminum. Weighs about 300 pounds. I don't have a wiring kit installed yet so it has been used only for very short local jaunts. That said, I cannot comment on F/E.

I also have one of these (Raider ATV-23 cargo rack) that I've installed a cheap HF trailer light set on:

The Yaris is surprisingly versatile.

^^^ i love how it blocks the license plate with the bikes, dont have to worry bout the cameras on the intersections and road areas that capture the photos of the car

Which hitch are you using?
I like the idea of the cargo rack and lights, too. :headbang:

I went with the Drawtite hitch from etrailer.com.

I already had the light converter and a variety of ball mounts sitting around in the garage, so I went with the least expensive hitch I can find.

Yeah, I zipped tied the magnetic lights on the back of the cargo rack. Works surprisingly well.

How do you like that bike rack?

I'm researching what type to get, but I want to make sure the bikes are secured on the rack. Also the rack would be swapped between 2 vehicles depending on needs (both would be class 1 hitches).

From the look of the pictures on etrailer.com's website for that rack, it looks like it's velcro straps? Am I correct?

Yes it only had the velcro strap to hold the bike. I did put a long bike chain with pad lock to secure the bike whenever i use it. So far I like it. It comes with a 2" adaptor so you can use it with a regular 2" hitch.

Here's from our trip to Cuyuna. The car did pretty well in the steep hills with almost 400 pounds of cargo and two people in it.
