Ebay should have plenty of chipped blanks for a few bucks, versus the hundreds from the stupid stealership.

the new key is 10.xx from the dealer...i ordered 2...they'll be here in a couple days...

Looked like a chipped key to me... I don't know anything about aveos. My bad for trying to save you a buck, LOL?!

+1 ^ that happened to me once, on a used car I was thinking of buying. Told the owner, hey look what just happened, he didn't look too surprised, he just shook his head and said "do yourself a favor, run " hehehe, didn't have to tell me twice :laugh:
i did that once to my car. the lock was frozen beyond belief. so glad it didn't break.

HAHA, are you talking about the old one sided keys that would wear out and fall out of the ignition while driving? LMAO
