View Full Version : Brake light listed as 7443, but isn't it single filament?

I searched a lot and everything shows that the rear brake light (the ones on the side, not in the window) is the bulb type 7443. This is a dual filament bulb, though, and the brake lights are only ever on or off (suggesting it's single filament). The right bulb seems to be 7440.

Am I missing something or does it actually use a dual filament?

Remove the original bulb from the car and have a look at it. It's a lot easier than researching it on the net.

I'm dumb and you're right. I can even see the 7443 number on the bulb without taking it out. Thanks!

Also, it turns out that the brake lights aren't simply on-off. They're also running lights when the headlights are turned on, so my reason for thinking they were single filament was flat out wrong.
