I was watching this oil change video for the Yaris on Youtube, he said to fill up with 4.3 quarts of motor oil in the 09?
My 07 manual states 3.9 qts with oil filter and 3.6 qts without oil filter.
He is over filling it:eek: see for yourself

He's definitely overfilling it if he's putting in 4.3. My 09 owners manual still says 3.9.

It's still 3.9 for the 2010.

Start out with 4 quarts of well shaken oil for O.C.. Dump oil from pan until it comes to a drip and then pour in 4 ounces new oil to help bring out more old oil from pan until another slow drip . Then clean the pan and drain plug w/crush washer ( use twice w/ no leaking ) . Put in plug . Leaves 28 ounces in bottle . Then remove oil filter , let drain , and thoroughly clean area . Pour in 5 ounces of the new oil into new filter leaving around 23 ounces in bottle . This takes about 3 times to pour into new TOYO oil filter to let it soak up the oil and install . Then pour in the 3 full quarts into engine and then the bottle of lesser oil until it has 4 ounces left in it . This usually brings it to the full mark . So , would say 3 quarts and 22 ounces to the FULL mark . Use leftover oil for lawnmowers , etc..

I always just put an even 4 quarts in.

.1 qt= 3.2 oz. +/- 3.2 oz is not worth worrying about-nor is it accurately measured from a 1qt oil bottle.

The guy putting 4.3 in isn't overfilling enough to cause problems but the correct answer is 3.9 as many have posted.

I generally use an OEM filter (90915-yzzf1) that is a hair larger than the normal factory filter (90915-yzzf2). the f1 is slightly larger (it also has a check valve). I use a full 4 quarts with this slightly larger filter and it comes out right on the money.
