Anyone else have that cap on the power outlet in the center console break off? It almost lasted a whole week. There doesn't seem to be any way to glue it. I would need to replace the part. Is it worth trying to get the dealer to do it under warranty? What have you done? Leave it? Buy a replacement at the dealer? Find a different kind of cap that will plug in and stay?

I was at a Pep Boys yesterday and they have different "covers" (although not OEM looking). I would try some carefully placed good old black duct tape first though ;).

Get the dealer to fix it. You already paid for it.

Well, if it hasn't broken for anyone else, then maybe it was defective or damaged during assembly. I'll ask the salesman when I pick up the plates. I don't want to go through a lot of hassle, but there is a principle.

Mine broke too, and unfortunately I broke it when I was wiring my cathodes, which means that if they take off the console and see wires spliced in... they'll probably tell me to go fork myself.

Anyone have any advice on this?

My cap didn't break off but the inards want to pull out whenever I unplug my GPS. Toyota used a crappy part here. Perhaps we'll eventually get a recall.

That is one shoddy 12V outlet they used there.
