In need of a wheel expert

I apologize in advance if this is a constant topic but really interested in widened steel wheels. I was looking at Diamond racing wheels and seen they have a nice selection. I don't know much about rims when it comes to offset/backspacing and was wondering if 15x7 with backspacing options of 1 1/2" to 4 1/2" would fit the Yaris?

Currently running a 16x8+0 on the rear of my car and I had to do a fair bit of fender work and have 3 degree camber shims put on. I think thats a backspacing of close to 4.5". So you may be a little better off with a 15x7 with that kind of backspacing.

You do know that you can do a 15x9 or 15x10 if you do a high enough offset right? If your going to do some widened stealies, why only add .5"?

Its not really the widened part I'm looking for the most it's more of a lip I want, I want a set of rims with about a 1-1.5" lip on them. Even though wider is better I think dropping the car about 2 inches with a deep dish would look amazing.

Ok 3" is the more aggressive look I am trying to achieve, Pur Blu's looks amazing but sticks out a lil too far. I hate having OCD and trying to have everything at a perfect setting it's so damn impossible.

One pair is the stock Yaris steelies (wanna say those are the front). The rear (I wanna say) were from an Integra. Oh, I was just using Pur Blu as a reference because he has had his steelies widened, albeit, wider than the OP wants. lol

I know diamond racing you can do alot of fun stuff cause they have lots of options back spacing wise.

I say if your going to go widened stealies though you wanna go wider with the higest offset you can. Will prevent the need for fender work like I am going through. Had to have the fenders pulled crazy. Basically wided the back of the car 1-1.5" for the wheels to fit properly and not rub.

16x8 + 25 and you would be golden. 16x9+35 and you would be good.

And isnt there an orange car running a 10" in the rear and he did no extra fender work. So his offset is probably close to 40-45. thats on the rear though. Front we are 16x7+38 and it rubs on some bumps but I'm fairly low on coils. May be able to do 7.5" with like 45 offset and be good. I think there is enough room back there.

Yea I think I know the orange one you're talking about. And I'm pretty it was a 10" wide wheel and I think I seen where he said it was a 45 offset. I want the flush look with no camber adjustment, if Pur Blu could get rid of the camber it would look amazing IMO. I understand once you lower it enough it's what happens but I want that go cart feel lol.

i got 15x8 25 offset rear with df210s and it rubs on huge bumps,and minor rub on entrances to apartments or stores and such....only the rears rub and it is on the tire,some minor camber and no more rub....roll fender under a bit takes all of 30 min to do and it is fine....and wildmongoose that pictures is sweet,I need to get some of mine nice and clean,that is a good shot angle...love it.

To the OP. You have lots of widened stealie options. Just remember you can stay super high offset with a wider wheel.

You can also use a wheel fitment calculator found on the internets to help you figure stuff out.

Sorry about the thread hijack but "I's gots to know". How do you drive a car like this? Does it have ultra-super-duper-mega-max-stiff springs? Hydraulics/pneumatics to raise the car while it is in motion? Is it sitting on the bumpstops or has solid rods instead of shock absorbers? It would seem hitting the slightest bumps will cause the fender to slice into the tire... :confused::iono:

Whenever I buy wheels/tires for my cars, I make sure they stay inside the stock fenders (I hate shaving/rolling lips) because I can't figure out how cars like this can roll down the road...

That was just the test fit for the wheels ;-)

Now there are 3 degree camber shims in, and the fenders have been rolled and pulled. Its the look I was going for. I am on coilovers, although the springs are far too soft.
